To me this sounds like a sales pitch to the fans! However we've seen right through the facade of these wild idea, that's not what we are interested in. We've seen too many other teams in Scotland go bust with grand plans. We need to build steadily from what we have. Yes, investment is needed but sensible incremental.

I could understand Thommo not wanting the gig preseason. He thought he'd another good year playing and why rush into management. As it happens, this season has been tough on him. Rushed back in a desperate throw of the dice and he's broken down twice. Now might seem like the right time for him and the opportunity is there for him. He said last nt on bbc if offered it-d be hard to turn down. To me he seems like gaffer material. He won't settle for laziness and no fight. That said Garry teale will get my full backing. He's been around the top flight long enough to have picked up some good ideas you'd hope and been working with David Longwell with the youth setup. Overall this is progress. The season starts again. I was utterly disenchanted. Now I'm back all in. Come on our saints.

Buy into the fact the football is the worst in a generation. There is no fight, the signings are horrendous and he built his team around a 36 year old for the premier league. Also buy into the fact that his tenure is now costing the club as the football is awful and fans are quite clearly staying away.

The Billy Davies one seems a bit of a fantasy tbh. Really can't see it but that would be brill if any truth in the possibility he'd take it. Remember that goal at Ibr0x The Barry Smith one.... I wonder if he was one of the CVs we discarded during the close season missed our chance to pick him up easily.

Had I known it was a 2 year deal I would question why an untried manager got such a grand term. Untried is maybe a bit flattering as I suppose he had a stint at this game before and we all know that record.

I never said it should bear interest, or that the board should be seen as some sort of heroes due to providing this facility. Perhaps my point was rather subtle in that had it been under fan ownership... what would the fan owners have done? Stumped up £100 each? and if a few couldn't / wouldn't where would the club be.

That's all fine buddy but what happens in times of cash flow problems. This year the board gave a 100K interest free loan to tide us over. Anyways, back on topic... has he gone yet?

I see our snp councillors are doing all they can to embarrass Renfrewshire more by burning a copy of the smith report outside the council office. They should remember while they represent their party, they also represent their constituents, many who won't vote for their policies. Also do we all just burn whatever we don't like in the street. TC said teale wouldn't play much this year which backs up the concerns of the OP. How much is he on to warn the bench. Did we need him and goodwin as coaches etc.

Biggest mistake was giving this essentially untried manager a 2 year deal. I can't believe our board who have been burned so bad in the past by managers did this. Gross stupidity on their part. I really think they thought he was a cheap stop gap that we could limp through with until they sold up.

Maybe he was a great coach, perhaps he could put cones out like no-one else. Split the players into small teams like no-one else. Collect the bibs after the training etc

Good point and something similar was brought up at the agm about Danny. Seems he signed bohoken without ever seeing him play. The board said this was fine, he was in charge he could do what he wanted. Seems a parallel here, TC can do what he wants in the media and the board won't step in. Simple answer Tommy is... We weren't good enough we need to be tighter etc say that and people may believe u and u do owe the fans an answer at the end of the match, indirectly we pay the wage.

Maybe u are fishing here, I'm not sure but without fans that care what's the point. Maybe u need a new hobby one where winning and passion is irrelevant.

Other random points from last night... We had sold 700 tickets for the cup game as of 2 days ago. This is apparently normal and we sell more at end of week. The strips were mentioned. Apparently sales are in line with last year. Someone else must be buying them then as me and my mates I attend with don't have this years. They approached all airlines for sponsorship on dome roof. The board thought tc was right man for job and wouldn't be drawn on current feelings. I could almost see them realising we are not happy during the meeting. Also Garry teale won't play much this season. He's been told that. Makes u wonder if they needed him and Goodwin in coaching roles.

On the 50k investment they claim they don't have the legal facility in place to produce new shares as the ability to do that expired. The loss of talent was raised really well by someone and the answer was poor. Dougie imrie is only playing well as he is at Hamilton apparently. According to TC he felt gowser had played his best football for us and when told he wasn't going to get a new deal gowser simply shook TC'S hand and walked out. Think this was meant to appease us. The talk of centre backs was quite frankly odd. He stalled for ages to collect his thoughts. Mentioned we had decent ones and I'm sure he never said cheesey! The offfield revenue was discussed. 1 fan suggesting we hold concerts this was refused as we have grass surface. The void was discussed again, I get the feeling they are not interested in it being a bar as they said attempts of paybars in the past haven't been a success.

It wasn't simply criticism, he was given plenty, deserved the lot and had basic answers - I am no supporter of his but that last mark was below the belt, it was down right rude verging on vulgar tbh.

That question was asked.... he hoped Thomogod would coach him and Ball into players that could score. Essentially his pre-season plan was all about Thomo and he says himself it was a mistake. Utterly insane IMO it's like school football get the ball to the best player and let them run amok. This is the SPFL we needed experience to partner our aging talisman, we are now left with strikers that are simply not finishers. Overall this was a bit more cutting / to-the-point than most I've been to in the last 15 years - no wonder. Some tough, honest questions asked, were they answered well... tbh, I felt not always. Last question of the night was in poor taste tbh. On the sale of the club, still feel we are in limbo there.

The board wouldn't advertise the post, they dressed up a lazy / very cheap option in a continuity guise. Continuity from what.... last season's now acceptable performance! The board wouldn't pay the money for recognised players, seemingly happy to get rid of the little talent we had. McCall or Butcher coming here - no chance. Sad reality. We are rotting away during this sale. Simple.
