Wouldn’t say it was a desperate area of need in terms of position but I definitely want a defender who can play full back and centre half, would fit the bill.

Christ, you'd think we were bringing on Ross Tokely by some of the reactions. 
Jimmy Nicholl would be my preference if a fresh pair of eyes are coming in but MacPherson is well respected and although his teams were exceptionally boring at times, he did a good job for us overall. 
I'm not at all worried about this. If there is one concern - it would be the same as with any DoF type role in that the person in the role undermines the new manager. This must not be allowed to happen and OK must have the final say over his team.

I think when you have senior players that are unhappy, it’s only a matter of time before the manager goes.

Watching that game on Saturday reminded me of Tommy Craig’s first home match, where got beat 2-0 off the newly promoted Hamilton side.

TC’s signings looked totally out their depth, and our usual core of good players (McGinn, McLean, Naismith etc) looked like they didn’t know where they were meant to be playing.

Seen these signs far too many times. Stubbs is a write off.
