  1. Thats good, I was just going to wait and go to the final anyway. Fans of the tribute act hate when you say that to them
  2. The three corners we had in the second half were, in my opinion, hit to the wrong area. A packed 6 yard box with a 6ft plus goalkeeper with good hands is not the best place to stick the ball. I would much rather, assuming Thommo is on, see an out swinger to the penalty spot with the hawk approaching in a burst of speed from just outside so that he is facing the goal and the keeper is moving across his box. A bullet header would be difficult to stop. I've been saying this for years and we persist with the pointless in swingers.
  3. That said, if the Saints went out in front of a crowd of three home supporters they probably wouldn't feel the pressure of a silent majority waiting for them to fcuk up so they could boo them. There are always exceptions to the rule
  4. I'm not so sure that I'd agree. From a music perspective, when I'm on stage and the audience are supportive, I play better and the band sounds more coherent and generally we give a better performance. I imagine playing football in front of a crowd would be similar. If you run out onto the pitch expecting to be booed and heckled by your own fans it will psychologically have an affect on you. As far as I'm concerned, I don't see anything wrong with fans supporting their team when they are level and then when they are winning, in fact I would expect it.
  5. I would agree that the coaching is where it's all going wrong. From what I've seen (and that's not a lot) youngsters have flair and competitive edge trained out of them from a young age. How often do you see a player in Scotland making a mazey run and putting the ball in the top corner a la Archie Gemmell. Most coaches would have him making a pass 20 yards behind him when he got the ball to avoid the other team from having a chance of getting the ball. I can't imagine the pelters Stevie Mallan would have got back in the dressing room for taking on the Dundee team last season. The other thing that I think is a major problem is players who only use the same foot. If you can't use two defenders will play you down the wrong side. Play with two feet and they have a decision to make. There you go, I have fixed Scottish Football. Do I get a prize?
  6. We definitely must play two up and leave them up if we are to do anything in these two matches. It will be interesting to see if they set themselves up against us as they have in each of the games I have watched them this season. If they do I think we will beat them.
  7. Maybe, but bear in mind that last years Premier League prices will only have been reduced a little for this year. Should be ok next year when they drop a bit more
  8. They are by no means unbeatable, ask St Johnstone. By playing a 4-4-2 against them and keeping their defence on their toes, we will only have one of Tavernier or Wallace to deal with at a time at the back. The way we scored against them at Ibrox I would opt for the punt up the middle as often as we get the chance and get some swift attackers going through the middle. This game needs a Tom Hendrie style approach i.e. attack, attack, attack. (Their centre half's and goalie are right sketchy) That is of course if Livvi don't sort them out before we get the chance
  9. Teale was playing SPL opposition with arguably a weaker squad. Given time I'm sure he would have turned us around. Played Won Lost Drawn Win ratio GT's record: 23 7 15 1 30.43 IM's record: 12 3 5 4 25.00 Ian Murray has arguably better players available and two of the win's were against lower league opposition in Berwick and Annan.
  10. In the current state of football in this country, clubs who sign players on one year deals do not have the luxury of time in finding their best formations/attacking partnerships etc. This has to be done behind closed doors in order that when the team is playing for points, they are earning them from the outset. I think a quarter of a season is more than enough time to evaluate the skill set of a manager. To have played all teams in the division once and beaten only one of them spells the end for the manager. Time for him to go. For what it's worth, GT with the players he had, had the team set out better and playing better football, with the addition of Langfield, Webster, Shankland, Carswell I reckon he would have had us in the top two after the first quarter.
  11. Thommo and Goodwin out. Let's play fitty without any bullying. (Unstubstatiated rumour- prove me wrong)
  12. In reply to op. No, he won't. Bring back Gary.
  13. We are not doing too well in retaining possession of the ball. In only two competitive games this season have we had more than 50% of the ball. Worrying
  14. I see Darren McGregor has been released. Wouldn't mind seeing him back in the stripes
  15. Perhaps we could pipe in the crowd noise from 17/03/13 into the away dressing room too. Let them think they are in a cauldron.
  16. Yes he would be covered by the insurance for the speargate incident, but if he is out of contract now, would he be covered for pre-season training as he now doesn't have a contract with the club?
  17. Would it not be the case that if his contract had expired and he has not yet signed a new one that he is technically no longer an employee of the club and would therefore not be protected by the clubs insurance? I should imagine that in the circumstances surrounding his absence from the team in the latter stages of the season, he would want to be protected by insurance!
