  1. Shouldn't Danny be going down the route of 'We are playing against twelve man every week' and put some pressure on the referees to make the right decisions and not the media inspired decisions. Alex Ferguson was good at that, referees always bottled giving anything against Man U because of the scrutiny they were under to make the right decision.
  2. I think a good result up there will be anything from a one goal defeat to a win. If you recall the last game at Greenhill Road we were competing with them until they replaced their forwards with Niall McGinn and that other bloke. After that it was hanging on for grim death. Obviously I would love to see us win this and it is definitely not out the question. As far as fullbacks go I think I would want to see their teamsheet before I make my pick as DVZ and Grainger may not be quite quick enough for the dons nimble strikers. In any case COYS PS re the 3 points from the next two games with a draw at Pittodrie, maybe he is still living in the 80's
  3. Not only has he improved the team over the last few years, he has also learned - "I must take my hat off to Partick Thistle, because I love the way they stick to their philosophy and try to play the game in the right manner," added Lennon, a former Firhill captain. "But you can't go out and bake the same cake every week. "The longer the campaign goes on, more teams get to know your strengths and weaknesses. "And, second or third-time round, opponents will give you that respect you deserve, but will also know so much more." This would suggest that our legendary manager is aware that it is important to have a 'Plan B' when 'Plan A' isn't working
  4. Does Black & White Army count? Most of us have two arms and are therefore 'armed'
  5. That would work quite well to the Banana Splits tune, Maybe Phil could play a few seconds of it the next time he scores
  6. Sorted as I assume there were no other offers on the table. Great signing for us though. Maybe he'll want to stay for the Scottish Cup run
  7. ...and we'll be challenging for Europe so no chance of losing him
  8. If it gives a goal of a start! Then we can resort to tippy tappy nice football
  9. Was it 5 a side? I wouldn't have thought the Renfrew Ferry could host 11 a side.
  10. Isn't it just in the main entrance and along the corridor?
  11. Also, I may have misheard him but I thought he said that Celtic need to get more 'agricultural' at this free kick! Would that be to dig in, plant themselves, graze the opposition or just plough into them like the cart horses they are?
  12. It was good to see Thommo playing like it meant something. A big change from the Motherwell game. There were great performances all over the pitch but when Aberdeen changed their front two it always looked like they'd get one back. Hopefully the team will play out their skins again on Saturday and get a wider gap with Hearts. I think those harking on about the number of games we have won in as long need to remember that we are not going to get better if we keep looking back, we need to look forward. Onwards and upwards indeed.
  13. Yes, I was surprised Goodwin was taking them when we had a number of free kick specialists on the field
  14. I don't think it's so much that he can't be arsed, but maybe more that his tank is low. A couple of times we were unable to attack quickly as he was walking back to the halfway line to get onside after having challenged their keeper.
  15. When Teale was playing on the right on Saturday the full back was forcing him to cut inside, presumably as he knows Teale doesn't have a left foot. He switched when Caprice came on and as far as I could see from the West Stand he did well. I also thought Caprice looked to be almost as good as Teale, he is certainly quick going down the line. I think Teale could be more dangerous on the left in a Steven McGarry sort of a way. Maybe having wingers that can switch sides if they aren't getting anywhere would be a good plan A/B to have
  16. When Caprice came on and Teale moved over to the left I thought we really looked like a team that would go and score goals, there was certainly no shortage of service it was just that the service was not going where the striker was. I thought Bahoken looked to be a better choice to stay on than Thommo to be honest. Thommo just doesn't get back quick enough and on a couple of occasions gave away offside just a few yards into the Motherwell half. I also thought that Cornell looked better in a one on one and maybe the defence are playing too deep for him. Just a thought
  17. According to the BBC survey, entry fees to English 1st and 2nd division grounds on average is lower than SPL! On that logic, had it been £12 a ticket and say half of the additional spectators ventured through to Edinburgh i.e 705 @ £12 would have bagged them £8,460 so maybe £12 is about right!
  18. We could maybe capitalise on their goalie. From having watched Samson last year, he is not good at shots coming in from the right flank across goal. I don't know how many he let in like that last year that he really should have saved.
  19. Did you go in to JD? I was in Silverburn yesterday and there were definitely some small ones. I didn't look at the sizes right enough.
  20. On a brighter note, when was the last time we were 15 points clear of the relegation zone this early in the season
  21. 1 St Mirren 2 Hearts 3 Hibs 4 Motherwell 5 St Johnstone 6 Partick 7 Dundee Utd 8 Ross County 9 ICT 10 Aberdeen 11 Celtic 12 Kilmarnock Scottish Cup - St Mirren League Cup - St Mirren Party on
  22. If Hearts go to the wall, will the 11th club be relegated and the 10th be in a playoff with third in the Championship?
