Deserved victory yesterday. Should have been out of sight earlier in the game and worried we might pay the penalty for wasting chances. Thought Idowu did really well when he came on.
Dare I say I'm feeling a little more hopeful for the season ahead.

My all time hero. Has provided some of my best memories in the game. He was twice European footballer of the year, been an international superstar but he signed for MY club. 2nd division Newcastle who had struggled for years since relegation and showed no hopes of improvement. Playing in a half finished ground when money to rebuild had ran out. The stuff of dreams and his winning debut and goal v QPR in 1982 still one the best days of my life.
My daughter and I were lucky to meet him at his Breahead place when we stopped off on the way to a saints game. I wore a retro 80s nufc top and who seemed like a random woman came and introduced us to the place. When we got talking she revealed she was Mrs Jean Keegan and promptly brought the great man over.
Fantastic! He spoke about all sorts of things. How he remembered wearing that kit and asked if I could remember a silver away version which he said they found it hard to see each other in. He told us how he had been unhappy in his latter days at Man City, saying he had one or two awkward players.
Onto the taking part in the course he had at Braehead. There I was trying to boot balls in the direction of some upright figures when a voice appeared from behind me. "Go on Geordie. Get your foot under the ball". My hero coaching me which only made me worse as lost any composure I had. A great experience and he signed my shirt before we left. Still treasure that shirt all these years later.
Love the man. Thanks for the memories King Kev 💔

Sometimes it's easy to get misty eyed about players from our younger years but after reading quite a few items about Keegan he deserves all the plaudits that have been coming from lots of people and clubs that he was involved with throughout his sensational career.
Barring falling off his bike in Super Stars 😉 he was some player and an inspiration to many.
Aye, rest easy Kevin, there's a lot worse out there. ❤️

Not long back. After much uncertainty everything fell into place. Trains ran, game was on and I got to see the lesser spotted saints away win. Even rarer at Pittodrie by all accounts. My heart did sink for a moment when the Aberdeen fan on the train near me told his mates there would be an 11 am pitch inspection. We were due to get off at 11.05. I e-mailed afc and they swiftly replied to say pitch was fine and game good to go....and relax! Both team and support were fantastic yesterday. A bit like Newcastle it's like being on one big rollercoaster ride. Got out for a good few pints in Aberdeen last night and enjoyed them despite having to run from bar to bar to try, in vain to dodge the incessant rain. Breakfast was funny when one or two Aberdeen fans were moaning this morning 😃. A good end to 2023. All the best for the NY everyone. COYS and Howay the Toon.

Aye, keeping a nervy eye on the trains. Bit confusing cos Scotrail appear to be running trains between Edinburgh and Aberdeen ok but LNER have replacement busses. Hoping we at least get the match out the way then bad weather passes quickly overnight and we get back alright on Sunday.

Decided to go for it. Unexpectedly been able to drag the wife up there with me for a stay in the Copthorne. A step up from my usual travelodge/premier inn. She's not going to the game. Maybe a good thing as the last one was a 4-1 hiding at Livingston. Ordered my ticket today and been assured any tickets, including mine will be taken up there and be able to pick up from the Aberdeen ticket office. Sod Xmas, I'm looking forward to my Aberdeen trip.

Decent hotel mate, stayed there a few times, nice and handy for the train station and the bar/restaurant is pretty good as well.
