Geordie Saint reacted to StanleySaint in How do you usually travel to away games?
Even home games are away games for me so almost exclusively by car.

Geordie Saint reacted to WeeBud in Ross County v St Mirren SPFL PREMIERSHIP 28/11/23
It’s a shite decision, I’m already in Inverness and staying over again tonight…….what in the name of the wee man are we going to do on a pissing wet day in the Highland Capital, ach well Hootenany’s and Johnny Foxes it is 🍺🥃🙈
in all seriousness I can see why they made the (correct) decision early and it saves the day trippers from setting off only to be disappointed and inconvenienced later, hangover here we come.

Geordie Saint got a reaction from Cookie Monster in Gleniffer Thistle Ladies
Took me by surprise but Glennifer Thistle got a HT mention at the Newcastle v Burnley game yesterday. Think the announcer said U12s. There was a white 'Marbil' coach parked up outside too. Sure saints fans use those buses?

I could only read Peter Godfrey (mid 80s) and Scott Walker. Without looking him up I'd guess late 90s/early 00s?

Geordie Saint reacted to StanleySaint in Season tickets
It would be a double edged sword to get all homecstands sold to season tickets, it would mean I wouldn't be able to go to any games covered by STs, once that happens then it is time to look at filling in a corner or two?

West Ham 1-5 Newcastle, great game, great performance, not a bad side.
Superb appointment in making Howe the manager when the temptation must have been one of the 10 or so managers who do the rounds around Europe.
94 mins.

Geordie Saint reacted to W6er in Hearts v St Mirren, 8/4/23
Our support this season has been magnificent, both home and away. Given our proximity to the Old Firm - let us not forget, St. Mirren Park is < 6 miles from Ibrox - I think that's a testament to the passion the people of Paisley, and Renfrewshire, have for the club.
We have three games to go, though. Let's not get carried away! One game at a time.
COYS! 😇 🏁 🇾🇪

Thought we were in for a repeat of the 1-0 home loss in 96 when we blew the title. Battered them 1st half without success then Cantona popped up with a 2nd half winner. The rest is history. Thankfully I was wrong today.

A similar thought crossed my mind after the first half where you battered them 0-0 as United are a pretty decent team this season.
United never really looked overly threatening and the goal lifted the team and crowd.
A well deserved win on the day.

Sad news. I believe he played in my 1st ever saints game v Aberdeen on or around Xmas eve 1983 iirc. A long time ago and memory is sketchy but I do remember him being highly thought of. RIP Billy.

Geordie Saint got a reaction from Helmettroll in All Our Yesterdays
In Benidorm now. Took a bus trip up the road to Calpe and spotted a couple getting off the bus. Noticed the bloke had a Mechelen sweatshirt on so I got talking to him. Turns out he was their physio for 34 years, now retired. His face lit up when I mentioned saints. "Ah St Mirren". You could see the memories flooding back as he started to reminisce. He told me many of his mates regard their Paisley trip as their best ever.

What a strip and badge. Reminds me of my early saints watching days and making me nostalgic. Also reminds me of my Panini sticker albums at school. Saints always stood out as a team in black and white on the very back page. The ugly sisters always had a double page spread while the provincial clubs had to make do with a single page. I'd never have guessed back in those days that i'd develop such a saints connection. So pleased i have.

I can remember a game Newcastle played at Coventry in the 90s. Our keeper Shay Given put the ball down ready to kick it long when suddenly Dion Dublin appeared from behind him and put it in the net. The joke at the time was that Shay was the only Irishman who didn't know where Dublin was.
