not many apprentices were aware of things like this, it was certainly my first experience of it, i was also informed that daddies or uncles recommending you was a good way to get a job there, and if daddy or uncle wore a wee apron some nights , then you had an even better chance,
What?!! I'm not sure what that's all about! Is this "kicking with both feet" a bit like "batting for both teams"?

It's all in his mind....

Guys, do yourselves a favour & dump the Rangers thread altogether, they don't deserve the space on this fine forum to start with!!
Insignificant neanderthals!
Hear, hear!
Regarding the bit of your post in bold - you did see you started this thread didn't you?!
DMC is right! Get this shit shut!!

Strange. I served my time with James Kilpatricks and plenty of the other apprentices kicked with both feet.
Bipedal were they?

A little prelude to oh when the saints.....
Big Thommo was our striker
he wore the badge with pride
And when we won the league cup
the tears you couldn't hide
He took the cup through Govan
for his old mates to see
He said we've won the league cup
and your in division three
Oh when the saints.....
Brilliant!

If you look at how we have played in the cups this year we have beaten 4 SPL teams higher up in the league than us between the League Cup and the Scottish Cup: Aberdeen away, Celtic at Hampden, Hearts yesterday and St Johnstone at home in the SC. What would people prefer... we lost in the cup and had no final to remember and no QF tie against Celtic (where we were unlucky not to at least get a replay), and get wins against those teams in the league and be 12 points better off and level with Ross County on 45 points in the battle for 4th place?
Most folk on here are never happy and they'd never be able to agree on the colour of the Queen's shite.

We should always be untied as St. Mirren supporters. Alas, we never are because there's always the odd "nutter" who ends up having a meltdown...
A wee spell without the Arbroath Chernobyl posting and we all seem to get on better in here. It's funny that...
-
Parking space ?? ...... they should have led the teams out !!
You're totally right Callum!
-
Sorry if this has been posted previously. Thought these guys were fantastic last time out.
I remember seeing that car!
How did they manage to get a parking space in the Hampden Car Park because I enquired for a space for the League Cup Semi-Final v Celtic and was told that "all car park spaces are reserved for Hospitality, employees and relatives of the teams"?
-
It looks like Holy Tony's on a mission (pun intended) to drag religion into St Mirren supporting and turn Buddie against Buddie.
It/he should be stamped on by the Mods.
Dearie me. You're not the Arbroath Chernobyl in disguise are you?! Talk about a meltdown .
I especially love the bit in bold - I should be "stamped on" for believing in people being allowed to be religious and be a football supporter at the same time. Dearie me, you couldn't make it up. I bet you were raging that Hitler never won the war, eh?!

Twenty-two years ago today, 96 People died under terrible and tragic circumstances. This afternoon, I watched some of the Memorial Service live on Television from Anfield. I am not a Supporter of Liverpool Football Club. I do not claim to know the complete “ins” and “outs” of 15th April, 1989. I also do not “take sides” regarding who is to blame or not to blame. I do however take great interest in this day every year and the Memorial Service which takes place and the fact that various Churches within the Liverpool and Merseyside area are represented at this Service. They all gather as one. They pray as one. They respect and console one another. The arm of friendship is extended to one another regardless of whether the person next to them is a Roman Catholic, a Protestant, a member of a Gospel Church (sorry I’m not sure what such a person is called, but I’m sure some knowledgeable person such as Bluto will stand me corrected) or are associated with any other Church. That is a society I would like to live within.
Hear, hear.

Just as not all Christians (Roman Catholic or Protestant) are bigots, neither are all Atheist. They are happy believing what they believe and, when given the chance, will respectfully put their point of view across. But others, like You Bluto, are bigoted. They (you) spout derisive, maligning, negative, scaremongering, ill-informed misinformation in a mocking and condescending tone and try to so in the name of rational or religious or atheistic superiority. It is sickening to read and smacks of hypocrisy. Thankfully most people, religious or atheist aren't like you and don't spout as repulsive and ignorant bile as you do.
Live and let live, buddy
Hope this helps.
Indeed.

Some very odd views on this thread. St Mirren is already a very broad church. The beauty of St Mirren is that we don;t really care what somebody choses to get up to outwith football or if they opt to bless themselves going on the pitch like John Potter - not that it is working for him.
We have the lunatic oirish republican types exiled in Dublin, we have Bluto and his blatant anti-Muslim EDL nonsense, 2Becks and his OTT reaction to getting kiddyfiddled by the clergy in his youth. All pretty extreme viewpoints, but they are St Mirren supporters and all they care about is St Mirren - they would never utilise St Mirren as a vehicle / brand for their extreme agendas and would certainly be called on if they attempted it.
I am delighted that a church will be holding ceremonies in the stadium facilities. For me this is another positive for St Mirren. The media will of course put their scumbag spin on it. That says more about their agenda, just as anyone having a go at this only let's themself down.
What if someone wants to have their wedding reception at the clubs new supporters bar / function suite? If they were married at a church would the member of the clergy performing the ceremony be barred from attending the reception? Should we ban priests and ministers or imams from attending St Mirren games. Should we set about them if they are caught wearing a St Mirren scarf.
I like St Mirren's tolerance - one of the best things about it, and why it is such a great community club. I would be proud to bring anyone to St Mirren park no matter what cultural background they have and I would be confident that they would be made very welcome.
This has cleared a lot up for me. The paragraphs in bold are very good points indeed.
-
That would make them h*n/fe***n/t*m/orange bastards.
As opposed to St. Mirren fans, who are not h*n/fe***n/t*m/orange bastards, irrespective of whatever sect of christianity they may choose to follow and therefore wouldnt be offended.
Nutter.
-
You should be ashamed at yourself. Not only have you made yourself look like an idiot, but you have offended me and I'm sure you have offended more fellow buds with that comment.
Spot on, I think he's an idiot and I am also offended, well I would be if I was the sort who got offended by the inane and worthless opinions of the bigoted, ignorant minority...
These two posts sum up what I've read so far...
-
Actually a brilliant post.
What's the issue that people have?
Please explain to me, using sensible words and properly constructed arguments, why this a big deal...
I don't have a problem with any local inoffensive organization use our facilities. The up keep of a church building must be expensive so they win and we win. It's a win win win situation. To think the big man will look down on us every Sunday is quite appealing also.
Shit if we get a good rub of the green next season I might go along to the service myself
We are a community club lets not forget that
Well said boys.
-
It seems some people see St Mirren as some sort of elitist organisation and have no desire to see the fan base rise. It's pretty sad the there is such a high level of intolerance within our support. Hardly a good foundation for a community club
Well said Civil Saint.

Thanks for Stuart D for telling me where to find this thread.
I'll read it in depth when I have more time. It should be interesting.

Just to clarify, the person who's posted this has received hundreds of requests asking him to remove them or they have reported him/her to the police.
I've not replied, not sure if it can do any damage or it's some sort of virus.
Looks like it's only a Blackberry issue.
1) I hope they throw your cell key away ya bawbagging valerie!
2) It probably is a virus if you're involved.
3) It's not a Blackberry issue - my Boss, her husband and my Dad's seem to work fine so I'm guessing it's just yours. Ha, ha ha!
4) Get it right up you!
5) "I hope this helps".

When I open facebook on my phone I have a "FB_In_Feed" showing.
When I open this it's full of people saying "Please remove me from your list".
This doesn't show when I open facebook from the laptop.
Anyone any ideas?
They must have found a new, younger boy to rent.

I was hearing at the game last night that other Buds have also been getting sent pics from FS on his holidays. Here's the one I got:

Am I the only one not particularly fussed about Kris Boyd? I think he would just be using us as a way of keeping fit and playing matches until another club were able to take him on.

That's a bit over the line mate. Unless of course I've misjudged you and you know Jim Leishman personally and have genuine reasons to dislike him?
