  1. And we've been saying this for about three years now. For three years he's been dropping in to cover our deficiencies at CH, and we've had no back-up for him to add steel to the midfield. I just don't see how it's possible for so many people to see the same problem for so long, and for those responsible for fixing it to do nothing. It's selective myopia on a f**king world-class level.
  2. My heart says that an imminent buyout is the best/only explanation for the staggering lack of urgency/action at SMP. My head says we've been saying this for five years now.
  3. Fair play. Decent source. I think we just, collectively, need to see something happening. Any sort of freshness or new impetus. Please.
  4. We are literally the slowest-moving football club in the f**king cosmos. I was about to take the piss out of HSS for posting old news, then realised that that is, indeed, a legit update. It's just that SMFC took a few days to reach the same conclusion that took the rest of the world all of two seconds.
  5. Just goes to show what a gamble the loan system is. I know we have used it successfully before - before 2013, Scott Cuthbert and Charlie Adam spring to mind as good, successful examples. Then, of course, the stars aligned in remarkable fashion as Dummett, Newtonnnnnnn and, of course, that big beautiful bastard Isma helped to give us all some wonderful memories, and a trophy. But for each one of them - the ones who sense an opportunity, fit in well, and work hard to make the most of it - there are so many others that just don't work (in every sense of the word...) Just from the past 12 months, Campbell, Plummer, Drury, Magennis, have all been a waste of time and space. We keep hearing that the loan system is essential for clubs like ours, and it's just the way of things now, and while the latter may be true, I really don't want to see us depending on loans again. Yes, use them to add gloss and depth to a squad, but they should never be integral.
  6. It's not worth dwelling on shit refereeing decisions - as you said, it's just what happens, it's just that they feel amplified when you're struggling. If we were playing well, scoring goals and keeping them out, then you'd be able to stomach a bit of bad luck here and there.
  7. Hard to disagree. As has been said elsewhere, we either need to appoint Teale this week (just for the sake of making a decision), or bring someone in, but either way, it's feeling slightly moot. Teale said he was lining up transfers in case he got the gig, we might as well roll the dice with him and see what happens. Depressed as f**k about this, and I don't even get to many games. Pity the poor folk who are close enough to feel compelled to go every week.
  8. I have no idea what's going on, so I guess so!
  9. I'd take a niggly, cynical diving shite up front at the minute. We're far too nice at times. If you ignore all the red cards, obviously.
  10. So they're only in our first team because they're shit and the system doesn't work? Amazing scenes. Did Longwell shit in your mum's kettle or something?
  11. Imagine the seethe from the Arabs if that came to pass. (No to mention how f**ked off we'd be, obviously).
  12. I reckon it's bullshit, and the 1/2 price is just the bookies shitting/covering themselves in case someone has insider info.
  13. I think that's what we're worried about. But no, I agree with what you've said. I think he always speaks very well and will make a very decent (St Mirren) manager eventually.
  14. Sounds dodgy as f**k to me. The only tiny positive is the prospect of maybe seeing a decent talent in the stripes, but that is literally the only upside. However, fundamentally, being exposed to, and run by, such a mercenary business model, will only lead to tears. We'll also become embroiled in complicated player-ownership models (think Tevez/Mascherano). Also, what happens if Paisley produces the next Kenny Dalglish and we get him on a five-year deal and he's worth £5m? The money will head out of Scotland, the same as any other transfer fees. I'm not having this: get them to f**k.
  15. I'd give Eric Black the job tomorrow. Loved him at Coventry when I was a journo there. Always surprised he never really hit the heights since then, but I think he'd be a great shout.
  16. I once had an extended chat with Ally McCoist about St Mirren, Stewart Kean and Gus McPherson, around the time he was training with us before he got involved with the Scotland set-up. He was a decent guy. Genuinely. Would I f**k as have him anywhere near our club, though.
  17. I tell you all something, Marc McAusland has his critics, but he's got more balls than any of you lot.
  18. I think we all know better than to take anything for granted, TBH.
  19. What he achieved long-term at ICT far outweighs the immediate relegation, though. http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/tel-will-take-action-after-ross-caldwell-spat-1-3216913
  20. It still sticks in my throat that he was probably the first player we had to properly stitch us up on a Bosman, when Bosmans were a new thing. Was it not the case that he went on a free because he went to France; if he'd gone anywhere in Britain there would have been a fee involved? It was at a time when we really, really f**king needed it, too. Not that I can hold a grudge or anything...
  21. Oh for the love of... WE'RE PLAYING ON SUNDAY. DIV WAS DOING A JOKE.
  22. Pretty sure I'm not! I think you failed to get a joke and have made a tit of yourself. No confusion here.
