What relevance does Rangers and Celtic spending big money have to do with the fact that Kenny left Dunfermline fighting to avoid relegation to the 3rd tier?
 
Dunfermline were massively overspending back then as well by the way, hence why they went into administration.
 
So, even with the resources of an overspending cheating club, he still managed to fail!
 
 

McGinn going to Celtic will be the worst case scenario for us which will mean we will get a good bit less money as Scott Allan will also be involved in the transfer. 
That will be another player we've developed and got very little money for. I really hope the board are at least considering rethinking our development strategy for our young players beyond the academy. These 2 year contracts are useless. 1 year to bed into the team, 1 year to play well then they are gone for peanuts. 

Tony F has indicated that we will spend this week to pass to allow applications to be made and that no short list has been drawn up. From the names in the ring at the moment there seem to be two managers with experience of managing successfully in our Top League. That's Macintyre and Neilson. Makes them strong Contenders I think though not shoe ins.

I think the true meaning for Jack is that he will always have a place for the club in his heart. He enjoyed his time as a player, and his memories from the last 18 months will stick in his mind forever. It could well be his best time in football, taking a club from guaranteed relegation to title winners in a short space of time.
It may be OTT to say SMTID, but perhaps it's his way of trying to say how much this club means to him. OTT maybe, as you say it's the fans who stick with a club thick and thin. But I believe his words are genuine. Best of luck to him (although I hope Argyle beat them to the title!)

Football doesn't have "loyalty" any more. When an English Championship club asks to speak to Jack, it's an opportunity for him. Of course he's going to see what they have to say.
What matters is this. Is he still going to give us 100% while contracted by us? Of course he is. He will try to sort out Gavin Reilly's contract and he will still try to bring in the acquired targets until the day he signs a contract elsewhere. As others have sensibly stated, if you are offered 3x, 4x your salary to do a similar job elsewhere, are you going to stay out of loyalty? Are you f**k. The idiots saying he such just bugger off because he isn't "committed" need to get a f**king grip.

Interesting. I think there are plenty flaws in that ticketing system we use. Hopefully the improvements promised in today's season ticket announcement come to fruition.

I will also be looking at moderation. The forum will stay, there's no danger of that changing, however things around it need to change.

I've spoken to and seen comments from a few ex-users of this forum who no longer visit for various reasons but the recurring theme I get is that people are just fed up with the utter shite that is posted on here, usually on a really repetitive basis, from a small number of users.
As such I have decided to resurrect the Sin Bin. If you suddenly find you are no longer able to post in this section of the forum, look for the Sin Bin section where you will be free to post as usual.
Going to run this way for a few weeks and see if there is any mileage left in the forum, or if it's run it's natural course and it's time to put the whole thing in the bin.

We're in a far far stronger position than we were going into the start of last season and there is still over a month to go until the league campaign starts.
 
Here's the starting XI from our opening day defeat at Ibrox last season;
Ridgers, Naismith, Conlan, Baird, Kelly, McMullan, Howieson, Carswell, Agnew, Mallan, Thompson
Easy to be wise after the event and all that but that back four was just asking for trouble.
 
Look at a potential starting XI if we were to have our opening game this weekend;
Langfield, Naismith, Irvine, MacKenzie, Webster, Quinn, Hutton, Mallan, Gallagher, Clarkson, Sutton
 
Only two survivors from that opening day lineup of last season and I think it's perfectly fair to say all 9 of the replacements are incremental improvements on the players they have replaced.
