The Meltdown would be of epic proportions.

Stubbs and Rae both got sacked on the back of League Cup results & performances that were arguably better than these.

We couldn't have hand picked an easier group stage but somehow we look like the worst team in it.

Absolutely pathetic St Mirren. Is this going to be another poor season with the paisley express promoting positivity out of nothing?

  2. Ive just watched the news conference and they seem to be establishing more solid facts which I think is badly needed as there has been a lot of rumour control going about. I honestly cant even hazard a guess as to what I think has happened but I really do feel for the relatives.

  3. Living in Englandshire I don't get north as often as I wish but on most trips home I always enjoy stroll around Mugdock country park.

It's only a few miles from milngavie or if you are on the Blanefield road it's well signposted.

    Plenty of car parking

Large open space for kick about with the lad or ample space for kite flying - boules - or frisbee

Head through the courtyard to the victors centre / info / toilets - Few craft units

Also lots of outdoor seating for reasonable price cuppa - ice cream - or bacon butty / indoor seating for when it's wet!

Then decision time - do you turn left and head down the hill past the small garden centre - BBQ area and pond to feed the ducks or right to the children's play area and adventure course to let them burn off steam.

Either way the walk is circular passing both the excellent Mugdock castle and the gun remments set up to protect Clydebank from the German air threat.

I usually google both on arrival to appear super knowledgeable and impress the kids!

Excellent views over the firth if Clyde - down to the area and across to paisley.

Area is always well populated walkers and it's nice to exchange a cheery greeting with fellow day trippers.

Excellent way to introduce young ones to nature - history and outdoor fun.

I like your style. This is a tactic that I will now employ. Cheers.

  4. Most relaxing, reliable way in which to do it AND ENJOY IT is...

    DON'T CAMP,

book accommodation ahead of time and NOT carry your house on your shoulders

employ a drive ahead service to take your wee bag (changes of dry clothing etc) for you.

SOME COMPANIES WILL DO MOST OF IT FOR YOU - which is even easier and is reliable.

They do the bookings, give you an itinerary, advice and cart your baggage for you.

    This package Code:WSSWHW3

    with macs adventures

http://www.macsadventure.com/holiday-93/west-highland-way?gclid=CKbzgtXRir0CFSQXwwod6iUAugis is what I would choose to do if doing it with Ms bluto (who is an experienced walker).

It's 9 days (whole route is about 90+) but that means you have no giant (20 miles) days for walking - which is sheer horror if you're stragglking across the Rannoch Moor, in the rain, no protection no shelter, nowhere to stop...

£510pp that includes breakfast, advice for where you get lunch/dinner is provided depending on where you stay. (Some places do ecening meals.

I think you can vary the cost depending on the accommodation selected.

You can do it quicker/cheaper.... but why would you? It's a HOLIDAY, in your own land - RELAX, have a pint or two, enjoy every minute.

There are other companies. I know MACS are ok.

I agree with every word of this. I did it years ago and there was no enjoyment in it whatsoever as the overall feeling was one of lets get to the end. I would love to do it using accommodation along the route with good weather and a hip flask as my walking companions.

  5. I bet there was a minority raging yesterday that we didn't lose, very hard to protest against the manager etc when you've just won! Anyone taking a swipe at our board of directors is either an idiot or has a short memory, I for one will be gutted when they go (unless replaced by millionaire sugar daddy type st Mirren super fan lol)

Yes the usual negativity suspects were very quiet yesterday. Speaks volumes about them.

  6. As this is a thread about board I wrote this when I was bored does that count.

I had this rather strange dream the other night that I thought I would share with you in the chance that someone more intelligent could decipher what it means.

It was based around a boating pond where 12 kids meet regularly to race their boats

All the remote control boats had names such as Mirren, Deen, Tic, Thistle, etc.

At the side were the operators of the boats. The boat Mirren was being operated by wee Danny. Well actually wee Danny was hiding in the bushes and had passed the remote to his pal Tommy. The boats Dunty and Rossty were being operated by the bully boys Jackie and Derek.

At one point Jackie and Derek were throwing stones trying to sink the Mirren or at best dislodges the good skipper from it. When wee Danny emerged from the bush collected the stones and gave them back to the bullies. I am sure at one point Danny threw a few stones at the good skipper himself.

Later on wee Danny shouted some sweary words at Derek and was sent home and put to bed with no tea. Thankfully wee Danny went and said sorry to the bully.

The Tic boat was the largest and flashiest boat in the pond. In the middle of the pond there was another flashy boat that had been sunk called the Rang. Not sure of the full name as the letters were under the water. At the side they were trying to rescue the boat using lots of expensive balloons.

There was another boat called Heartless that was moored at the side. Gary the Heartless operator was moaning about lack of parts for the boat and that it might have to sink.

Also watching on was wee Dannys parents, Stuart and his wife Sher Holder. It is a tangled relationship. Stuart wants a divorce from Sher and his share of the assets they have accrued in their marriage. Worse still, Stuart has been touting Sher on dating agencies for the last few years in the hope that someone else marries her. The most recent interest came from some strange Swiss man called Tober. Stuart has warned that wee Danny will be getting put up for adoption in a few months as the Swiss Tober may not want children like him around. The Swiss option only came about because Stuart was CiC of being messed about.

    Then I woke up.

I hope your mummy supervises your internet activities.

  7. Thank god for you billy. I personally would never have reached that conclusion without your footballing insight.

No doubt your hugely successful playing career where you won three consecutive Cub Scout under-12s league titles and appeared four times for the regional select Guides XI until they discovered you were a boy has given you this wonderful insight which is well beyond the reach of the rest of us mere mortals.

Now you know exactly how we feel when we need to put up with your sanctimonious pish.!!!!!!!

  8. Sorry Norrie but you are simply regurgitating what has been said on many other threads and countless posts within those threads. Everyone is fully aware of the situation and the long term ramifications but it is not going to change anything by continually talking about it on here. We are now at the precipice and as fans all we can really do is get behind the team to the best of our ability both at the game and any forums that we post on. I also hate the situation but as a club we have been here many times before and seen it through. Thats what comes with being St Mirren and its now time for all fans to stand up and be counted as personalities within the team come and go but the club will always remain. SMTID.
