Still that's more than 40 years after his best work.

Exactly.....what a shame he feels the need to cash in on his popularity now. You have to ask why??? Surely he has made enough cash singing about our rights over the past 4 decades?!

60s- The Beatles, Beach Boys, The Who, Otis Redding, Velvet Underground

70s- The Clash, The Jam, Joy Divison, The Undertones, SLF

80s- U2, NWA, The Pogues, Halfman Halfbiscuit, The Smiths

90s- Stone Roses, Faith No More, Blur, James, Radiohead

00s- The Killers- music has bored me from the late 80s onwards

The Killers???? ****

Another case of you getting bored of music rather than the other way around. The music of this generation is every bit as good as the 60s & 70s.

It's too easy to get mist eyed about past times- there were great bands and singers in the 60's but c'mon, Cliff Richard, Herman's Hermits, every generation has cack bands and good bands.

No mention of Chuck Berry, James Brown, Motown or Michael Jackson (altho' Quincy Jones got a namecheck). I'd also throw in Gil Scott-Heron even tho' his dad played for Celtic.

Oh Yeah. I also meant to include Nile Rogers/Bernard Edwards of Chic.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::wink:

Good choices though - was thinking of Motown but couldn't really narrow it down to one band or artist, did have Stevie Wonder in the 70s although by that time his output wasn't exactly typical of the label.

Fúckin' top notch shout. They were a great band that provided soul, funk and shit-hot guitaring all rolled in to one. They were highly influential in dance music and its development. Along with Giorgio Moroder & Kraftwerk they're top of that particular tree.

Aye, I would put on my best dancin shoes for Dance,Dance,Dance yousa yousa yousa ! Great track all 12inches of Bernard Edwards thumping bass lines and Nile Rogers funky rhythm guitar. Rogers also was called in to produce a lot of top notch albums one of which was the excellent classic "Listen Like Thieves" by Inexs.
