One of my favourites in the Vietnam collection - Hamburger Hill.

Try 'The Hill' (b+w) about a British prison of war camp with Sean Connery or The Eagle has Landed starring Michael Caine.

Talking about Michael Caine what about Zulu.

1) Band of Brothers (I know a series but the best damned war thingmae ever)

2) We were Soldiers (the book is called we were soldiers once and young, well worth a read)

3) Full metal jacket

4) Bridge over the river Kwai

5) Gallipoli (probably not spelt correctly but very good, even better when you consider that it is historically accurate)

1 - Apocalypse Now

2 - Black Hawk Down

3 - Enemy At The Gates

4 - Platoon

5 - Full Metal Jacket

I'm just looking for some recommendations to add to my DVD collection.

They're all shite. War is bad, man.

I watched Saving Ryans Privates after returning from a SMFC jaunt to Blackpool.

I didn't feel very well after watching the start of it and decided to leave the room.My mates found me 15 mins later sitting in front of the fridge with the door open :green

Private ryan, Platoon and apocalypse now are all great, i also have a soft spot for kelly's heroes (surely donald sutherlands finest moment...) but have just seen the remake of 300 spartans.. does that count as a war movie? absolutely superb,

Aye, I quite fancy seeing that myself. May try to get down to see it instead of the Junior match at Love Street.
