Thought it may be of some interest to someone that there is a free festival in Stockton - 15 miles from Darlington on the weekend of the game Headliners are the mighty Super Furry Animals and the Happy Mondays. See the link for more info:- www.fringefestival.co.uk

JM1
Any1 got good tips for accomodation within the Newcastle are the weekend of this game? Me and 4 pals are staying in one of the many Travelodges in the area. They're all pretty cheap and not a long taxi journey to Newcastle city centre. kevo_smfc
Me and 4 pals are staying in one of the many Travelodges in the area. They're all pretty cheap and not a long taxi journey to Newcastle city centre. Stayed in the one @ Washington, just outside Newcastle, which was reasonably cheap. Was trying to do a google search on any little independent B&B's for a much more cheapness with failed result.

If you share a family room between two people (one double bed and one pull-out bed) then you'll probably struggle to get better value. Our trip (Travelodge room, train down on Saturday morning and train back up on Sunday evening) is costing £41 each, although that was booked 2 weeks ago so prices may have went up by now. GEORDIESAINT
The weekend we're playing Darlo is an English Bank holiday weekend and so prices are way higher than usual. Just checked the calendar and i'm almost certain the next bank holiday down here in England is on August 25th, though another day off work would be welcome. Hope you all get some digs sorted anyway.
