Ie Keeps Closing Down

Help please.

Internet Explorer keeps closing down, for instance I am on loking at the forum and it just vanishes and I have to start it up again. I thought perhaps I had a virus, did a scan and nothing showed up and then I downloaded firefox but it is doing exactly the same.

I am lucky if I get to see a page for more than 15 seconds and I am going absolutely mental. Anyone had similar problems or offer some advice..

Please, its driving me insane

It has been doing it for over a month, starting off would close down IE maybe a few times and then it would be fine, but now it is more like 20-30 times of closing down before it will stay open, and it is extremely frustrating...

I thought it was a fault with IE and hence why I downloaded Firefox but it is doing the exact same thing :(

A couple of things...

1. I had a scrabble round looking... folk with similar problems got them after installing toolbars like Yahoo and aol. Did you do that recently a month ago, say?? Uninstall them, if so - see if that helps?

2. You loaded firefox but did you UNINSTALL IE? If it's a residual IE problem it would be better cleared.

3. Or... You could uninstall IE then just reload it.

There could be a number of reasons causing this, a software clash between IE, firefox and other programmes in your system, an overloaded processor or not enough RAM.

However its fair to say that it needs fixed.

PS I made all that up

Laptop is only a few months old so it is not an issue with space or ram and it is nothing to do with both IE and Firefox clashing, as I downloaded Firefox on here after I started having problems and it is doing the same...

Ooft, I just don't know what to do :(

Try doing a system restore, restore it to the earliest date you have on the list, or one where you think it may have been working.

Control panel=system and maintenance=backup and restore=Rrepair windows using system restore(top left).

If this doesn,t work, download windows malicious software remover, below.

http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

If that doesn't work, burn it. :)
