A fast, tenacious striker who made his debut for United's under-18s side while still just 15, Adam Campbell is a product of the famous Wallsend Boys' Club who has been with The Magpies since 2002.

Born in North Shields, he's a boyhood Newcastle fan whose favourite United player is Cheick Tiote while he also admires Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

Although long-regarded inside the club as a massive talent, the flame-haired forward enhanced his reputation at the Manchester United Premier Cup World Finals in the summer of 2010, where he won the tournament's Most Valuable Player award. Previous winners of that prestigious honour include Andres Iniesta, Fernando Torres and Carlos Tevez.

He says the best advice he's ever been given is "don't give up." Adam scored his first under-18s goal against Middlesbrough in February - having opened his Reserve team account in only his second appearance just days earlier.

Capped by England at under-16 level in 2011, he was called into the England under-17 squad for the Algarve Tournament at the beginning of 2011 and wasted no time in scoring on his debut after just five minutes.

Netted a hat-trick for United's under-21s on the opening day of the season against Tottenham and made his senior debut in the Europa League fourth qualifying round first leg tie at Atromitos

Impressive.

Quote from WirralSaint on other thread pasted below. Looks like he's not coming. Not this month anyway....

Young Newcastle midfielder Richardson moving elsewhere short term

He might not be but Campbell looks like he could be.

Killie are going to end up f**ked.... Hearing they are paying Boyd a fortune lol.gif:

We had Motherwell....Then Dundee.... Then Livingstone....Then Getna.....Then Dundee again....Then Rangers....Then Dunfermline.....Then Hearts. Kilmarnock are immortal !....Who owns this cub?.....If you find the answer you might understand why.......Ps...Don't know if It's on here but Craig Samson lost his driving license which might have made his decision easier to transfer to his local teamwhistling.gif

Another update tweet from Douglas McNeil

St Mirren hoping to get the Conor Newton & Adam Campbell loan deals tied up early this week. More signings very very unlikely.

It'll be good to get Newton & Campbell if they do sign but any injuries to Campbell or Thommo will leave us f*cked!!! It'll still be a very unbalanced squad imo but it's on Danny's head.

"More signings very, very unlikely"

Hmm, that's not very encouraging. We need an experienced forward to step in when Thommo gets suspended/injured/promoted to manager/given anchor slot on Sky Sports News/appointed as Children's Laureate [delete as appropriate].

Good news on the loan front, I suppose, if they materialise.

Would not be surprised if Naismith starts at right back in the absence of suspended Vanzy. If he plays well, there should be a challenge for vanzy to pish his way back in.

I think with newton coming in, this may push mcginn out to the left and netwon taking centre, to allow reilly to support up front.

We're turning into a Conference type club , cobble together a team of young boys and one year contracts on the cheap while borrowing players here there and everywhere . Apart from McGinn there's nothing to suggest that we have long term plans to build a side !
