insaintee
Ok Drew a little Spice We saved almost 300k in wages letting players go. Counting Harkins McGinn and Granger etc we still have almost 200k in wages to spend. Webster and Hately are not coming to St Mirren not because we can't afford them but because they want more than St Mirren reckon they are worth (correct IMO). That means we still have a big budget to spend. As we were only ever looking at out of contract players and loans. the transfer window is not really relevant. We're looking at some juicy loan deals over and above Campbell. Some have been mentioned here and some have not. The defender we are looking to bring in has played in the SPL but not recently and is out of contract. The reason we've not been linked with any old diddy is because Danny IS going for quality and in the signing of McGinn, Harkens and Granger you can see the that. Jumbo Whiffy
It's all in Lovestreet's PM Oh well, providing you've got a reliable source. Honestly, you two came out like Rupert Murdoch & Rebecca Brooks. Promises of exclusive and insider information. Even if it required a bit of phone hacking you 2 were bring the facts to those who wanted to know. In reality we got some made up pish & some stuff copied & pasted from earlier posts. A good chunk of that would have went to players who negotiated new and improved contracts.
David Mc
Which surely begs the question 'why?' when a) so many players are looking for a contract out there and they were part of a team that finished a poor 11th last season?

class of 76-77
The budget has been reduced this season, of that there can be no doubt, the manager and the BOD recognize what we need in terms of players to fill the squad. But it doesn't help matters when sites like this are full of fans spouting all sorts of abuse aimed at everyone from the manager to the BOD. Constructive criticism and debate is one thing, but some of the stuff on here is a step too far, do people not realize that players and agents look at these boards, if young Adam Campbell were to read some of the stuff on here, then who would blame him for going elsewhere.
