sm74
As far as a back-up keeper is concerned, I think Kevin Cuthbert from Ayr would be ideal. Said recently he wants to move in to full-time football and will be on next to nothing I reckon. Easily their POTY and hasn't put a foot wrong. MarkL
The Morton fans were not happy when the let him go, he would be a decent back up IMO
Murray7
Would be a Samson-like signing, I'd be happy with Cuthbert. Hopefully he could also push Sammy a bit more than Smith has done.
colin b
I played in the same schools team as Kevin, nice guy and the right sort of character for the dressing room. superb shot stopper but his kicking is poor and doesn't command his area. I think st J fans would back that up however players improve Sammy being the perfect example.

Lethal89
On a pay as you play deal may not be a bad signing. I think a fit and focused Garry O'connor would nt be a bad signing either, as long as he came attitude free.

The budget for the player still has to be committed. Fair enough you can bin him if he has a serious injury, but for such a key and expensive player it would still be a massive gamble. Mainstand Sweary Mob
Doing this on my phone so not letting me quote, but someone suggested we needed a strong central midfielder in. Seems ian black will not have contract renewed at hearts. I know he is a wee dick but think he could do that role for us. Shame he'd be out our price range. class of 76-77
One or two whispers circulating from various sources that McShane will be moving on or shipped out on another loan deal.It seems the word is that he won't be involved next season ? St. Sid
Tommy Craig had a long word with Griffiths at the end of the match.....surely far more worthy of speculation than the dodgy handshake between fat sally and McGregor.

faraway saint
Nether would I ! Complete liability ! As a person, I agree, something not quite right but as a player I'd love to see him in a Saints strip. Certainly has the talent to be a decent player although maybe not the common sense. Mainstand Sweary Mob
So from what I can think of from SPL strikers who are/might be out of contract in the summer Craig Beattie - Hearts Garry O'Connor - Hibs Stephen Elliott - Hearts Leigh Griffiths - Hibs Fran Sandaza Striker - St. Johnstone Andy Kirk - Dunfermline Cillian Sheridan - St. Johnstone Grégory Tadé - ICT David Healy - Rangers Darren Mackie - Aberdeen Liam Buchanan - Dunfermline Roy O'Donovan - Hibs Gary Glen - Hearts Josh Magennis - Aberdeen Marcus Haber - St. Johnstone Mohamed Chalali - Aberdeen Andy Little - Rangers Billy McKay - ICT Shane Sutherland - ICT James Keatings - St. Johnstone Danny Uchechi - Aberdeen Derek Riordan - St. Johnstone So from the list above for out of contract strikers this summer, here are what I can figure out for goals scored in the league Fran Sandaza St. Johnstone 14 Garry O'Connor Hibs 11 Andy Kirk Dunfermline 11 Grégory Tadé ICT 9 Leigh Griffiths Hibs 7 Liam Buchanan Dunfermline 5 Andy Little Rangers 5 Cillian Sheridan St. Johnstone 4 Stephen Elliott Hearts 3 David Healy Rangers 3 Billy McKay ICT 3 Marcus Haber St. Johnstone 2 Craig Beattie Hearts 1 Darren Mackie Aberdeen 1 Roy O'Donovan Hibs 1 Josh Magennis Aberdeen 1 Mohamed Chalali Aberdeen 1 Shane Sutherland ICT 1 Gary Glen Hearts 0 James Keatings St. Johnstone 0 Danny Uchechi Aberdeen 0 Derek Riordan St. Johnstone
Rabinho
Falkirk fan has posted on p&b that DL is in talks with John Baird. He put in a good shift on Saturday and certainly looked like he could play off Thommohawk no probs. That said, he was up against John Potter... Mainstand Sweary Mob
Sandaza wont be going to the Scum so maybe a cheeky wee bid there? I know maybe some of them on the list may be unrealistic, but likes of Andy Kirk & Grégory Tadé have scored an alright amount in shite teams. if we are able to keep likes of McGowan and McLean a and would have a choice of forwads like Thompson, Hasselbaink (hopefully) Guy and Kirk/Tadé could be quite good. have likes of McGowan, Imrie linking up with them from Midfield. Either of the two of them could be good to take the place of Thomo as he puts his all in every match and gets f**ked near the end, we have no one that can take his place that is strong or could hold a ball up. If we get a striker sorted I would say all we maybe need is a back up centre back and someone to play wide right. On Sunday i thought we were very narrow in midfield. Imrie gave us width on the left when he was on (as Carey wasn't) but we had no one moving or helping VZ and I don't think Teale is the answer to help. Rabinho
why, look at raiths league position and he couldnt kick a barn door in the spl Why? Because I watched him play and he did well enough to suggest he could play at a higher level.
