Loach is gritty realisim which sometimes maybe a bit too real . Kes is the pinnacle of his work by a country mile though , the Brian Glover cameo is first class . Oh Lord yes. It was only in comparison to Sweet Sixteen, whic I have on DVD, that I went for Kes, the best of his oeuvre. If I want the shit side of my home town I'll get Peter McDougall's stuff.
