St. Sid
Well done Danny and Tommy...........when many Saints fans caved in you rose to the challenge, lifted the players and delivered a valuable three points. At home next week with the chance to leapfrog Hearts and maybe even nick 4th spot. Could be a great day for Paisley with the Lights on and Fireworks display on - what a way that would be to celebrate 4th spot in the league. reborn saint
Well done to everybody. The mangement team and players. Stood up and showed that playing a passing game can win games, imagine that. Just heard Danny on BBC ...He says it all and I think we should all be proud of our manager. I hope our cic comes true and Danny gets a 5 yr contract. These are the 2 conditions which will make our club great.

Dibbles old paperboy
Enjoyed tonight's game and thought the team played well in conditions which meant mistakes were always going to be made... still great to see the midfield get the ball down and run at the opposition, and great to see an open game with lots of chances at both ends. Smtid 1
Did we not have a Danny Lennon appreciation thread from last season that could be merged with this as well? It looks a bit sh*t that the "Danny Lennon must go" thread is 22 pages long and the "Danny Lennon appreciation" thread is 5 pages long! Im sure there was one from last season? Magic Monkey
Something I'd like to add in favour of our manager. Head on over to the Rumour Mill and you'll see people talking about transfer fees of around £750k for one of our young players. Head to the transfer thread on P&B, and these suggestions are not being laughed out the door by opposing fans. This is not just down to Kenny McLean's performances - it's because St Mirren are set up to play in a way that allows young talent to come through; gives them time on the ball and promotes passing play. When a Wolves (or whoever) scout comes to watch, Kenny Mclean is presented as part of a far more attractive package that genuinely adds hundreds of thousands to his perceived value. A talented, ball-playing midifleder in a team that grinds out results and pumps it forwards all the time would never attract anywhere near as much interest or money. This could be the start of a factory line of talented young players that, if we keep playing like this, could continue to get snapped up for properly large fees. Thanks to DL and TC, we could be well and truly in the money.

Ye, lets develope young talented players.Sell them on and spend the money bringing in players who want to spend their last couple of years topping up their pension. That's clearly not what I was saying. Let's become an attractive team to watch with a reputation for developing youth and with the means to bring in talent/experience from elsewhere as required. Sure beats the hell out of having a dull team and watching our young players being sold on for buttons because they can't shine in our first team set-up. St. Sid
Another good signing pulled out of the bag by DL after a great summer of signings. We have the right infrastructure, the right culture, the right ambition and now we have a manager that fits us prefectly.....he is playing football that players like Imrie can't wait to be a part of not to mention all the talent that have kept faith with us like Gowser and Carey.
