div
Unless you are at work you shouldn't be using a proxy server. If you are at work a proxy is the device through which all Internet connections are passed through. Usually for monitoring, reporting and blcking purposes but it can also speed up access by storing local copies of pages that others have visited. If the proxy is down then your computer can't get to the Internet as your firewall will have been told only to let the proxy out. So there you go ! Do you use NTL/Virgin by any chance ? They use regional proxy servers I believe to cut down on interenet traffic and improve service to users. Just a shot in the dark. keyboard warrior
Naw mate,Sky. I am on sky too. No proxy settings needed. You might have picked up an errant proxy setting when visiting bumhole.com In internet explorer check Tools > Internet Options > Lan Settings. The only thing you want ticked in there is automatically detect settings. If you have any entries delete them and make sure automatically detect settings is ticked. Also, if you have any old dial up settings, delete them as you have always on broadband and do not need any dial up connections.

I am thinking of sticking a fiver on that happening. I thought Big Porky yardley might have stuck four past east fife when he was farmed out to forfar for being a lardass.
