Eric Arthur Blair
The Tollbooth at the corner of Moss St and High St. Later building work undermined its foundation and the tower had to be propped up by a giant strut. Ultimately the building was unsaveable, demolished and replaced with the current building (the one with the wee clock).

Ah it's where the new ground is; I remember the prefabs, one of my aunts used to live in one of those, don't recall the little park with the walkways, any idea when this was? DumboBud
I’ve been asked a question about a butchers at the west end called Slaters possibly around about George St / Maxwellton street. If anyone knows anything about this I’d appreciate a PM.

hamlet
Great photo. Was the road opposite the main entrance to Fudgie, Hudgie and Budgie on Renfrew Road also called Great Hamilton Street or was it just Hamilton Street. Used it to go via the footbridge on way to Racecourse and Love Street.

Eric Arthur Blair
45p in The Bungalow in 1980.
Buddie Marvelous
I can’t quite remember where I had my first pint. It’s probably either the Dusty Millar’s as Davie Nimmo, who was my Dads mate, was the barman. Or the Todholm Inn, just up from where we lived. Think it was 1980, I was 16.
