Desperately Seeking Susans
The next generation will be saying much the same as they reminisce the multi-storey car park after its demolition (the sooner the better). You know, it wouldn't be financially impossible to rebuild the county building again and reinstate our heritage (and while they're at it plough up the surface of the square which is out of character from most of the buildings that overlook it.

The Original 59er
I won't pretend that I have waded my way through this book in its entirety, but a fascinating picture of Paisley from a bygone time. https://archive.org/stream/cu31924028090102#page/n3/mode/2up

In which case they are coming from, rather than going to, Abbostinch. Difficult to recognise the type of aircraft being towed. It looks like a single wing, mid-bodied craft which opens up a number of options. Any suggestions? Initially I would have gone with a Grumman Wildcat if I had to make a stab at it, but they look like fixed wheels as opposed to folding back in flight???? ................... and yes the van in the foreground does provide a wee hint, the photographer obviously worked hard to get that reference into the photo.😉 Edited October 16, 2020 by The Original 59er

Eric Arthur Blair
I meant to say the road on the right the lorry is turning from is St. James Street and into Moss St.I would have edited my post but due to an individual repeatedly acting like a child, Div removed that option.

The billboard for the West End cinema is showing The Outcast which was a 1934 film - the second film looks like The Bold Caballeros (1936) but I can’t quite make it out.

The programme on the left of the billboard was the filmS showing Tuesday to Friday, and the programme on the right took over Saturday to Monday. The Alex operated the same sort of schedule..
