antrin
Look at the industrial grime on those buildings. (not on The Cavern, newly opened… and built on the space where Toshie used to live.)

West Buchanan Place across Canal Street (new double carriageway!) to the left. garage out of shot in the right, a Vet due to be set up next door, further on right out of sight.( still in business). Store on corner of Camphill … mainly off-sales, sawdusted wood floor, with to its left…. a wee baker, butcher, Findlay’s (?) newsagent and last on left - a big rag store. There’s an entry for vans/trucks beneath and to rear of these tenements beside the rag store.

They've done an excellent job so far.Was it Sonny that got us walking about paisley with our heads looking up at the architecture?
antrin
Sonny, and his amazing series of pix of Paisley architecture was the start of this fine thread, aye! There had also been a sporadic set of shots in the (good, old) PDE, showing wee corners of buildings (some years earlier) with the reveal a day or so later, that he began to emulate. Good thread. It has lasted… and enriched our lives a little, I believe. 😉 ( 2 pints of Prahva and 2 Peronni, if it matters).

Damaged neck muscle, 2 cocodomol and 1 ibuprofen. Every 6 hours. Not as good as solpodol but they'll do.Not allowed to drive or drink. I've got 10 bottles of peroni chilling in fridge, I swear I can hear them calling me.

The lack of cars on the duel carriageway is certainly a blast from the past.

faraway saint
Spent quite a lot of time in this place........................Steve Davis came along for a Q&A session, accompanied by his manager Barry "sleazy" Hearn, who only allowed written questions. Someone had asked who was the first player to have a televised 147, was it Cliff Thorburn, Steve announced it was him in the Skoda masters (I think), and as part of the prize he received a Skoda. In them days Skoda was seen as a bit of a joke car so I butted in and asked what did he do with it.................Hearn tried to stop Davis answering but he carried on saying it sat outside his house for some time before he gave it to his father and it sat outside his house for some time and he didn't know where it was now. After the Q&A an elderly lady asked for a picture with Davis, again Hearn tried to prevent it but Davis, a true gentleman, said it wasn't a problem. He certainly dispelled the myth he was "boring" that night. Edited May 21 by faraway saint
