It's taken a while but I found a "useful" link for that old stuff... http://www.wolfbane.com/vreg.htm I stand corrected re HS (up to '74 anyway!) but XS was Paisley right enough. Then i noticed the name printed on the plate under the above regi number. It was .. STEWART LEWIS What's the point of it all ? He's probably spent a lot of dough on that. I asked him how did he know. He said the XS in their number plate was the Paisley registration. Wow, really?
