Personal Car Registration Numbers.

The one that I liked the most was the plate our local doctor in Bishopton had...... NHS1

Allegedly he did not have to pay for it as a personal plate., as HS was the suffix for Renfrewshire and with very few people owning cars at that time, it makes that possibility more plausible.

My first car (a second, third or fourth hand 8 year old Austin A35) had the registration mark NHS 365. Quite appropriate as I was a final year medical student at the time. It had a starting handle which was very useful when the battery became flat. In later years I regretted that I had not had the registration transferred to subsequent cars.

What did the writing say?

It said "I've found another man, much younger than you, and I'll need half your money to buy us a house".

And it worked.

Although after 9 years he now has a dodgy heart and a pacemaker.

Had she stayed that might have been me.

Every cloud has a silver lining.
