He started off with something crazy like 47, then had to ask permission to use 0, which was granted. On another note, he's dead now! Think he died in a car crash or something?? In the 1982 World Cup, Ossie Ardiles wore the number 1 shirt, even though he was an outfield player. Reason? The Argentinian squad numbers were chosen alphabetically. Strange but true.Another pointless but interesting fact for you. The only player in the Argentina squad who's number didn't follow the alphabetical order was Maradona, who preferred to stick with his usual no.10 shirt. And who was going to argue with him!? Yes but if Danny really wanted shot of him he could give him whatever number he wanted if any number at all. Train with the u20's etc....
