A Big Bonfire

If you want to see some Norn Irn culture, log on to the Northern Ireland news on the BBC site. These huge things can take weeks to build and they're a bloody menace. They cause a lot of trouble and it's rarely one side against the other. They fight the bit out regularly among themselves. These things being constructed are things of wonder. I wonder about the mentality of those that build them.

Just looked at the photos, there must be a lot of idle fork lift trucks in the area as these morons have cornered the wooden pallet market.

And anyone needing a spare tyre may have a bit of a wait, the sound of cars driving around on wheel rims must be deafening

The answer is simple, construct one huge F-off bonfire and test the theory that shite doesnt burn

The big bonfire has been dismantled. The council paid for it and supplied fork lift trucks. They are getting another site and I wouldn't be surprised if the council helps somehow. It's cheaper than upsetting the tossers and keeps the peace. The pallet thing was always a sore point over here. Most businesses found out the hard way it was better to give the wee boys a few or the 'big' boys would come calling. Old tyres ditto. The authorities have tried to get them stopped for environmental reasons among other things but it's their tradition, you see. Their culture. Intimidation lives, on both sides of the great divide.

Belfasts a great place to visit for the weekend. Much cheaper and friendlier than Dublin with good Pubs and decent places to eat.

45 minute flight from glasgow for about 60 notes return and 100 quid will get you two nights in a decent hotel.
