The Open 2013

I was at the Open at Carnoustie with some old Paisley mates, waiting to cross a fairway and stopped rather abruptly by a steward who was high on power.

One of our crew said to him loudly "You've a face like a Halloween cake" which resulted in the whole crowd laughing at him.

I heard the poor steward is in the same ward as Tony A.

Carnoustie was brilliant.

Got the train from Glasgow with Gav and his dad. I was still smashed from the night before. Few cans for breakfast and I was sorted.

Great day until some dafty pulled the emergency cord on the train home around Perth. Probably a Mackem

I'll post my tips next week.

Was close last year. Backed Snediker before a ball was hit a 150/1. Don't think many would have tipped him this time last year.

I usually wait till after the 1st two days as it's a bit of a lottery.

I've been betting on the Open for about a million years and hardly had a winner.

Paddy potato head has been my saviour over the last umpteen years.

Only went for McDowell as I'm flush and he's on recent form.

He's just phoned me and told me to fcuk off for jinxing him. lol.giflol.giflol.gif

I'll PM lovestreet and ask him to text Jimbo for some inside info on who's been best in practice rounds etc.

Could 2013 become better than 2012 for British sport?:

Justin Rose wins US Open

Lions win in Australia

Andy Murray wins at Wimbledon

British winner at Muirfield

England white wash Australia in the ashes

Correct and there is nae need for a list.

17/3/13 trumped the whole of 2012.

Oops, i've posted on here again, sorry.

will colin montgomery be trying again??

Fraid not. No automatic qualification for him with not being a previous winner. He tried to qualify last weekend. Apparently played not badly but blew it on the last few holes. The story of his life. If only he could have controlled his temper a few times over the years. But anyway.
