Dibbles old paperboy
Pleased that DL is our manager instead of the all-knowing Lex. In my opinion we should drop Harkins tomorrow and give Robbo a shot at right back,

norrie82
Norrie, its time you bought a buss pass to get yourself to Ibrox. You c**t. That you are. No need for your outburst and to be honest use of such a horrible word. I'm all for you disagreeing but really that is way below the standards I expect on here. I really hope that you will reconsider your outburst and change it. Perhaps a mod can do it . There are better ways to disagree this is not one of them and isn't acceptable. ged62
I didn't say Killie were any good, when they scored they were on top, but 11 v 11 we didn't really look like scoring, Didn't seem to be any tempo or urgency, McGowan was poor expect better from him, Goodwin was poor at the back, But great to see McLean and McGregor back and playing, But we rely to much on Teale to get us in forward positions, Good to have Newton back as well, Saying nothing about the manager said all I need to, I will Gary & dont give a shit what anybody says, IMO DL can go, yes as you always say, CLUELESS. flyingscot
Utter nonsense. Aside from Teale, McGowan was our best player today. McGowan was OK yesterday but I'd like to see him further forward like Ibrahim for Killie. He also sold the Killie goal with a silly challenge on Ibrahim which meant he could run 40+ yards at our defence, esp with Grainger out of position having put in the cross. Magic Monkey
really that is way below the standards I expect on here. Really?! This place is a den of idiocy, poorly conceived wind-ups, immaturity, impatience, keyboard hard men, ridiculous expectations, poor perspective, hidden agendas and, frequently, out-and-out bullshit. I would never be surprised by anything I read on here.

stevenston saint
From the man who wanted Harkins dropped, by all means have your say but don't act like an arrogant tosser by claiming nobody else understands the game because they don't agree with you. insaintee
Seriously though. Regardless of what might have happened Boyd did get sent of and rightly so. He seemed to have a vendetta against Jim from the start and was no doubt hoping he would have a Finnigan moment. Did not work out. Instead Jim kept cool and Boyd had his petulant ans stupid lash out. It was a clear straight forward red I don't think anyone can argue that. Would we have scored if he'd still been on. I'd say yes, but he might have scored again. Up until the sending of the game was fairly evenly balanced. After the sending of St Mirren were clearly ahead and should have won. Infact, I'd say St Mirren should have scored before the sending off. We need to get our shooting boots on. Its interesting to not the psychological impact that a player like boyd has. Wonder if our new striker will have the same impact

stlucifer
This thread proves the old adage about opinions being formed by preconceptions. My opinion? I thought we played far better than I expected. From an attacking point of view I don't think the sending off made a difference as they just went to a 4-4-1 formation therefore I believe it wrong to say we wouldn't have scored 11 v 11. As it happened, on another day, we could have won this game 3 or 4 to the good As far as the players were concerned. Cornell didn't have a lot to do but he came out for any cross balls and didn't fumble once. He was slow to make a decision with ball in hand but I hope that changes as he gets used to his teammates. Grainger has a sweet left foot and had a power of work to do as most of the Killie wing play came down their right. Cheesey and Goodwin were reasonably secure with the former helping Grainger out and spraying some good balls in the second half. It was hard to judge McGregor as he didn't have too much to do on the right flank. Their No 19 was cutting inside and, to be fair, ripping quite a few of our lads a new one. (I was really happy to see him replced!). I was a bit dubious about McLean starting but I felt he did ok and looked to help the defenders when required. Newton continued where he left off last season and covered every blade of grass with his tough tackling and bursting runs. McGowan improved as the game went on but was definitely culpable, at least in part, to their goal when diving in to the tackle. He actually did exactly the same later in the game but we got back to cover. Harkins looked the part and I don't agree with those who say he's lazy without the ball. I thought he tracked back well and put in a few good blocks. Thompson looked more like his old self and could have had a hatrick if not for our ex goalie. There's nothing I can say about Teale that hasn't been said already. Star player and man of the match by a country mile. All in all we looked more like a team but I came out feeling this was more like a defeat given our failure to capitalize on our undoubted superiority. Soctty
Two points dropped. If we don't beat the likes of Killie, Hearts, Hibs & Ross County at home we could be in trouble. As for the game, Newton and Teale were the pick for me. McGregor not a full back - solid enough but gave no support to Teale. Keeper was better - no clangers. Hope he can gain some confidence from this. Harkins did little other than score. Takes it too far too often. Sure he'll contribute a lot this season, but not his best game yesterday. McGowan wasn't his best either, other than after the sending off. It seemed to take the red card to give us the confidence we could beat them. Need to be better motivated from the off. Need more confidence. Big game next week which we should be going all out to win to keep County's bad start going & kickstart our season. Ayrshire Saints
We need a bit more pace and mobility in the striking dept but that aside I saw nothing yesterday to get too worried about. McGregor and the defence in general (Grainger still looks rusty) were fine as was the keeper. Big advantage both defending and attacking set pieces with Darren playing. Harkins is a cracking player god knows why some idiots are on his case already ? McLean still looks out of sorts but form will only return through playing so we need to persevere. Teale was unplayable second half and once Thommo regains his goal scoring touch and if we can add a complimentary pacy 2nd striker we will be fine. Certainly nothing to see for the pampers brigade imo - time to move on lads and support the players we do have.

Perhaps Teale had a blinder due to the solidity of Darren behind him. On that form Gary needs no support thus leaving the full back to do his primary function which I thought McGregor did very well.Added arial ability a huge plus too. Way better option than DVZ or Robertson in my eyes

KillieFan!
Thought I'd air my views on yesterday. First half was dire, second half Kilmarnock improved, Boyd took his goal well... then deservedly got sent off(although the ref gave Goodwin too much leeway imo.) then we somehow got a point. P.S thanks for Samson he's been class so far.
davidg
Wasn't the Tess one the offside decision anyway? I remember there was one handball shout that was given offside but struggling to remember who it was against. Wasn't the penalty shout David. No it wasn't given for offside. The other one was down at the left but a corner was given Watch it back bud. Just watched the game on alba there. The Tess handball shout was given offside. First one was the baldy guy and was a corner. 2nd one McGregor heads the ball from the back post across goal and hits Tess on the right arm which is raised and out. This was given offside so not really a penalty shout. Edited August 18, 2013 by davidg

E=Mc2
What about Tesselaar's raised arm interfering with the direction of Darren McGregor's header in the box in the closing minutes? Clear as day on ALBA.
