div
Started this on twitter this morning and found it really interesting to see the responses. The window is closed so you know our first team squad. You are the manager, what would be your starting 11 and in what formation ?

spankin_panda
He's f**ked mate. He injured again or do you reckon he is just finished due to having two long term injuries?
davidg
He injured again or do you reckon he is just finished due to having two long term injuries? I just think he's finished after the 2 injuries.
Sonny
--------Cornell---------- DVZ-Cheesy-Mair-Grainger --------Goody---------- Teale-Newton-McGinn -------Gowser-------- ------Thommo-------- That is my team to get us out of this mess. We need workers and that is the hardest working 11. I would prefer not to play someone in front of the back four but our defence is so fragile it is required. If the defence was better I would have Bahoken up front with Thommo and Gowser playing just behind where he plays best.
spankin_panda
I just think he's finished after the 2 injuries. Yeah, it's a shame mate. Fingers crossed he can come back to some decent form... God knows we need it. Unfortunately the sad matter is that we all seem to have a better more coherent and cohesive idea of how our squad would be best used yet the manager sets our the team likes he drew names from a hat. It's going to be the longest season ahead and if ear the worst!
Lizard King
Cornell Caprice Mair McGregor Grainger Goodwin Teale McGinn Harkins McGowan Thompson That would leave decent options on the bench: McAusland, McLean, Bahoken, Newton & Reilly. I thought about Harkins on the left but so far he's shown no willingness to track back. That would be good going forward but I'd prefer someone who will help out at the back. For me Harkins and McGowan are best playing off Thommo, if it comes down to a choice I'd pick Gowser. Iamhammer
If everyone was fully fit I would risk this . Cornell . McAusland McGregor Mair Teale. Newton. McGinn. McGowan. Grainger . Thompson. Bahoken

oaksoft
So we are less than 16 posts in and not a single person agrees with anyone else on either formation or first 11. Shows you how hard a job it is to please all the fans.

FTOF
So we are less than 16 posts in and not a single person agrees with anyone else on either formation or first 11. Shows you how hard a job it is to please all the fans. It's quite difficult because we've got a lot of good individuals, but rather than gelling when you put them together, they seem to become a disparate lot. I also think we lack balance within the squad. Plus I wouldn't presume to assume that I'm better at picking a team than people who have been involved in football for years and work with the players every day. However, I'll enter the spirit of the moment and have a go anyway. There are also a few young unknowns to factor in to the mix, who I'm presuming are good enough since we've got them on loan for a year. Cornell Caprice Goodwin Free agent signing (If McGregor is done) Grainger Teale Newton McGowan McGinn Thompson Bahoken
NeilPar72
Cornell DVZ. Goodwin. Mair/McGregor. Grainger Newton. McGinn Teale. McGowan. Bahoken Thompson The 3 behind Thompson..regardless of who is picked. Need to getup alongside him and beyond him when he gets the ball played up to him. Harkins is a luxury player we cannot afford as he does not do enough work to be in midfield picking up runners.
scrappy coco
Cornell Caprice. Mcgregor mair. Grainger Goodwin Teale. McGowan. McGinn Thompson. Bahoken We don't have a natural left winger which upsets the balance of the team if we did I would play 5 in the middle with a lone striker or even a 4 3 3, With cheesy Newton McLean harkins and Reilly on the bench no place at all for DVZ his times up I'm afraid
saltcoatsbuddie
cornell caprice mair McGregor grainger Goodwin teale newton mclean harkins thommo ive put in harkins only because I believe he would score more than gowser
Mars
4-3-3 Cornell DVZ Mcausland McGregor Grainger McGowan Goodwin McGinn Teale Thommo Harkins Blackpool have played this formation extensively for a number of years now (since Holloway was in charge). They play to their strengths and aim to put the opposition on the back foot as often as possible. The full backs provide the width in midfield when attacking. Exciting and direct. Easily converts to 4-5-1 when defending.
