shull
An excellent article in the Daily Record where Chris reveals his highs and lows of supporting Saints. Also his dream team, which is .. Money, Beckett, Clarke, Fitzy, Copland, Fulton, McAvennie, Aber, Somner, Lexy and Scan. What a f**king Team ! shull
And his dream Subs. Zico, McGarvey,Stark and Billy Thomson. Those 4 could probably beat many 11 a side teams now.

whydowebother
Can't argue with that at all. I remember every one of them well Training & Nutrition etc was different then to now , but if they were playing currently I think you would need to dig out your passports European adventures would be possible. Jimmy H
Great team indeed, some great players missing also, Peter Weir, Iain Munro And Ian Ferguson to name a few.
bigjerseybuddie
Alex Beckett in a saints best 11? Hmmm. I remember him getting pelters week in week out. Most around me at the time felt he was the weak link in a very good saints team. Still, he scored a beauty to shut the jungle up who were in full voice so, yes, thinking about it, leave him in just for that goal alone. Decent players but they weren't of the same standard as the rest of the team

Isabella Duke
Training & Nutrition etc was different then to now , Indeed. Players used to keep fit and eat less shite back in the 80s. Disagree with Brookmyre's selection. Mine is better. Les Fridge; - Bobby Law - Lex Baillie - Neil Orr - Mark Reid; - Kenny Gillies - Andy Dow - Sean Lynch - Jim Gardner; - Alan Irvine, Alex Bone

Isabella Duke
What Alan Irvine? The one that played for us! 3 goals in 39 games, he made Billy Mehmet appear prolific. He was the bother of Aberdeen's Brian Irvine. Just found that out on Wikipedia! How the f**k did he ever manage to get a game for Liverpool...
