Humans Causing Climate Emergency

The Tory party big book of "facts".

You know; the one that they used to tell us that there were 70,000 Syrian moderates on the ground in Syria who would help us end war in Syria.

i reckon its going to be a blog by some nutter he found on the web or from some conspiracy website.

the only facts worth knowing are that all of them are non renewable, companies involved in those industries are finding fewer and fewer pockets of resources and its getting harder to extract the resources. theres not much point in talking about all the untapped coal. if you cant access it the stuff may as well not be there.

  • 1 year later...

A dude on Radio Scotland just said that Polar Bears are running out of ice to stand on.

Maybe we could replace their ice with Foxes Glacier Mints.

The dude also said to boycott America because of Trump.

There are some right fecking loonies in our community.

A woman on now blaming overpopulation as a cause.

She is not against having a one child rule in this Country.

And wants to stop people flying away on too many holidays.

I blame Poz for that.

Tumble Dryers she is blaming now.

This woman is a maniac.

Have to say

Whilst Trump is a trumpet- he is obviously- as published - trying to make US buy US again , and they are still very geared to fossil fuels, so there is more to this...

Plus the world in 6 Billion years has always hotted up with gases and then cooled, its a cycle as we are not on a perfect orbit round the sun....

Whilst we are not helping, I still think that even if we  had used windpower from day dot we still would have shrinking Poles...

Anyway Shull the Polar Bears are great swimmers- Move to Skye

for once, oaksoft is right...  FFS.

Your/Trumps argument is the same as - the house is on fire, we should keep chucking petrol onto it cos it's possibly going to burn out anyway.

The fact that we have cycles of cooling/heating of the planet does not seem to have impinged upon what consciousness he has, that we ARE exacerbating the effect.

Trump seems to be ignoring all the US effort, invention and manufacturing put into the development of the new energy technologies that has been burgeoning over there.  I guess those jobs don't count.

The planet'll see me oot, so I shouldn't be at all concerned, but it's tragic that so many people, plants and animals will be destroyed by crass human stupidity.

Can you please actually read my answer, I am not making an argument here, I am stating facts.

Trump is needing fossil fuels so he can create home growth- Fact

The planet - Heats and Cools and releases greenhouse gasses naturally. Fact

And I totally agree that Trump is a selfish fanny...... But hey mcdowells glorious leader has said " that its a little disappointing" so that put Trump in his place

So say your very sorry and beg forgiveness , unless u actually believe all this is Gods work:o

Except fossil fuels can always come cheaper from other countries at OPEC's bidding, (as OPEC did by undercutting shale oil prices to make it unprofitable) , this would impede home growth - so not quite a fact.  A bit of wishful thinking and hope, at best.

The planet - Heats and Cools and releases greenhouse gasses naturally. Fact

I never disputed that - however I did point out human actions have made it massively worse.  THAT is the relevant, devastating fact really playing here.

I don't do gods.

Also - as I don't really care, I'm alright Jack - I am not making an argument, either.  :)

Good I will take all above as an apology, as FFS didn't really go quite into the detail you just have, so well done, however come on the fossil fuels were done in 6 days by God:lol:

Have a wee quiet afternoon. Matron will bring you tea and biscuits at 3 :booty

Fair point. Allow me to clarify further.

It is utterly depressing that in 2017, after some 40 years of scientific evidence and education, we still have so many people who haven't the faintest idea about this stuff and are still talking the sort of utter tripe detailed in your post.

Oh and I am not really interested in playing either, hence my "FFS" response.

Educate yourself properly or accept you haven't got a clue and give us all peace.

You can start by reading up on what nature's equilibrium means and how small man made perturbations can break that natural equilibrium irreparably.

oaksoft's science rants are always amusing

he never goes into any detail

reason being that he can't, cos he's not a scientist and if he did go into detail, he'd get found out!

If I went into any details, about two people on this forum would be able to follow it.

We have had these discussions before.

I am not playing.
