Drew
Chris Brookmyre was on a political/current affairs panel show on Radio Shortbread this lunchtime, and he was also getting stuck into the Tories and their despicable dribblings. Lex
I wish the Tories would stop trying to get involved with the independence debate. The best thing Cameron and Osbourne and the rest could do for the union is... Nothing. Stay well out of it and a no vote is a certainty. Scots have complained for decades about the Tories screwing our country and yet when a clear opportunity is handed out to get rid of them permanently from our politics about 60% of all Scots are shying away from doing it. It's bizarre. Anyway......

Defence, taxation, welfare benefits, etc....etc.... I think you'll find, in many respects, they most certainly do.
Charlotte Saint
KB gives a KB to the PM. Why would you want to celebrate St Andrew's day on the 28th anyway? I suppose Cameron wants to celebrate it so much that he doesn't want it interfering with his weekend.

Rather than getting rid, they will be stronger.

Charlotte Saint
...but not in with any chance of being in power You're wrong Tony, in a democratic system they would have the same chance of any other party of winning a Scottish election. All they would need to do is come up with sensible and fair poiicies that enough voters think would be best for Scotland as a whole and they would be in. That fortunately is and will always be their problem. Thankfully.
Thorizaar
Eh, whit?Scotland currently has 1 Tory MP in London, 15 MSPs in Edinburgh. They would not be gone. At the moment the arse end of 300 Tory MP's in England - absolutely none of whom we voted for, control our defence, immigration, tax, welfare and strictly control the amount of money they give us to pay for everything else forcing us to be without means to borrow money for things. Voting for independence may well result in more Tory MSP's in Scotland but it would be considerably reduce the number of Tories in a position to harm us from 300+ to about 15 or so. I'd say that was worth a YES vote on it's own TBH.
