faraway saint
I'm pretty sure that's what you meant to say, isn't it? No it's not, there are other threads where you and Shull have posted more. No, really, there isn't. And that's saying something. oaksoft
depends on the rent amount, if you pay £500 rent a month (not uncommon in scotland) then you can be left with £1500 per month - benefit is paid weekly/fortnightly/four weekly, although what ayrshire saint is saying about the cap being introduced mainly due to the vast amounts of housing benefit that were paid in london is partly true, it does bring benefits there down to the level of other areas of the uk, this is why a lot of people are having to move out of london. A person who is a single parent (or guardian) of 2 dependant children could be getting DLA/SDA,CA,IB, child tax credit and child benefit, that could amount to 3 or 4 hundred quid a week before HB, but they would need to cut down a bit each week to afford the kind of holidays being spoken of.unless of course they were getting benefits they are not entitled to and therefore did not have the same expense as a person who is entitled and has to spend more than able bodied people just to stay in a bit of comfort Housing benefit is not effectively cash in hand. Tax credits are not benefits anyway so are not included. Phil was talking about benefits only. It's fair to say he wasn't including child benefit either. The point is that nobody is getting £300 to £400 per week purely in benefits excluding HB. That is the crux of the matter. In short, Phil is either lying or his relative is conning the system. There are no other permutations.
oaksoft
I see French business Technip paid off 190 workers and closed it's operations in Scotland today citing fears that an independent Scotland will not be able to access finance for renewable energy. That isn't true. Read the article FFS. Lying bastard. The firm blamed a “highly capital-intensive” market and also “disparities” for the renewable-energy industry across Europe, but gave no more details. Green energy developers in the UK have often struggled to get political and financial backing for projects.

Vambo57
no amount of backtracking or whataboutery will dig you out wrangler boy thick as f**k : I like your signature Phil. Now yer talkin! I see French business Technip paid off 190 workers and closed it's operations in Scotland today citing fears that an independent Scotland will not be able to access finance for renewable energy. The company specialises in offshore wind technology. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/business/scotland-business/335602/190-technip-jobs-under-threat-at-westhill/ All of the highlighted above a pack of lies. Why does he do it? A direct descendent of Goebbels IMO. He has the cheek to call folk on here Natzis.

It's cool to be brainless and to deliberately leave yourself uneducated in virtually everything. Don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise. Being clever is overrated. Don't be afraid to wallow in your pig ignorance. It's something to be proud of. Start wallowing folks on the count of three.....one two......no no no not a real Count FFS...... beyond our ken
Gullible? Not me Kendo. The arse has fallen out of the Scottish Renewables market and the private sector is turning it's back on Scotland. The really gullible ones are those Nationalists who believed the silly fairytale that Scotland would be rich exporting all our renewable generated electricity to London. The South East of England will get all the power it wants and needs from France through the Channel Tunnel link. It's bonkers to think energy generated in the Western Isles or Aberdeen would be exported 600 miles to England, especially when electricity doesn't work like that. If the arse has fallen out of the market, you will have to tell me why i am currently building 3 substantial onshore windfarms, developing proposals for 4 others, re-powering 2 older projects and am working on a portfolio of 31 completed projects in their operational phase

beyond our ken
Because the Scottish Government is committed to flogging a dead horse and cant afford to lose face? So the arse has not fallen out of it. Anyway, energy policy in this regard is not a devolved matter, any suport comes from westminster. Next!
