craignumawan
Saw the man himself in Braehead just an hour ago (with photographic evidence of course). Said he had flown over from turkey for the game. Seems a bit odd that a Londoner would spend his free time flying to Paisley for a league cup replay. Possibly a deal in January? Murray7
Apparently he's signed for a team in Malaysia, it could be one of those short-term deals, though. Nothing online to clarify. I'd take him back, he'd link up well/be decent cover for Thommo
faraway saint
Hope he's better at shopping than scoring goals. As for him signing, bargepole?

Murray7
Anyone know his league games: league goals ratio? His Wikipedia stats are well off.
faraway saint
Anyone know his league games: league goals ratio? His Wikipedia stats are well off. Played 100 scored 4, 2 of them were OG's. PS For the record I liked him, not a goal scorer but always put in a shift but I honestly think he's not got the ability to be anymore than a journeyman. Herdo
I reckon he would have hit his best form in the SPL had he stayed in it the year he left us. Looks like a few bad moves and a few years of his career lost, which is a shame! I wouldn't take him back as no one knows his stats for the years after he left us to just now and there is no room for nostalgia with our budget
faraway saint
Aye, that shows one of his goals, only the other 3 and you've got a full set.
bluto
I'd be happy if he returned. More experienced, looks fit in craignumawan's pic and he's only 29 - half the age of Thommo....
Callum Gilhooley
Aye, that shows one of his goals, only the other 3 and you've got a full set. Are you SPS in disguise ?
Murray7
Turns out he hasn't signed for anyone. McGowan being out long term certainly adds fuel to the fire, too.

djchapsticks
I'd give him a deal until the end of the season. Absolutely no harm in this and low risk. He's likely to bring half a dozen or so goals to the side and decent link up play.

class of 76-77
I would welcome Billy back to the club with open arms, a short term contract to the end of the season would benefit everyone, he would be a good option as Thommo's back up and he would help us forget about Bahoken who seems to have been an utter waste of time. saintnextlifetime
We could do worse and have done worse , than Billy. He liked playing for us , in particular , when Sutton left. As as been said , l don't think it would do any harm to have him back . .
Reeperbahn Bud
Myself and Div spoke to him before the game. Says he has not signed for the Malaysian club, he has only spoken to a contact of theirs. We both asked if he is signing for us and he laughed and said again "I've not sign anything anywhere yet". I'm sure there was also a "you never know what will happen" in there aswell?
norrie82
I asked him if he was coming back and he said don't know yet. I then asked did he want to and he said "yes one day" . This was at the end of the game as he left the main door. I think he is ideal for Thompson could get a rest with him and Danny apparently wanted Parkin to stay but he wanted games. Anyhow it's anyone's guess why he rolled up tonight Edited December 11, 2013 by norrie82
Mr Zo
Would definitely welcome Mehmet back at the club. Not necessarily a prolific goalscorer but he would add something to the side and I don't imagine his wage demands would be too great. He is a good footballer and would fit in to our new passing game. A nice wee fit for both parties would see a contract offered until the end of the season. Thanks to our roving reporter, craignumawan, who looks like he is sponsored by Hollister.;-)

This sites usually pretty accurate http://uk.soccerway.com/players/billy-mehmet/1100/ 15 goals in 15 appearances in the cup for us is worth signing him just for the cup!
