Guest TPAFKATS
Uefa are great at keeping politics out of football, until mandela died and they insisted that all clubs held up a banner on champions league night. Hmmm
E=Mc2
Uefa are great at keeping politics out of football, until mandela died and they insisted that all clubs held up a banner on champions league night. Hmmm Indeed. When Mandela was on Robin Island would they have fined a club a for a "Free Nelson Mandela" banner?
RickMcD
Yesterday I was on a train to Derriaghy and as it passes fairly near Windsor Park it offers a fine view of Black Mountain which rises above West Belfast, in particular the Andersontown area and Upper Falls. Over the years Republicans have often had logos laid out on the grass with sayings like 'Bless the IRA' or 'Come on the Provos'. They used to do it by painting on white sheets but the army used to come along quite quickly and used the downdraft from their choppers to blow the signs away. Even in these relatively peaceful days they still appear now and again. Yesterday there was one which says 'RIP Nelson Mandela'. One time brothers-in-arms I suppose.
