Mackems Foot In The Final

Great day out had by all except the score line of course. Sunderland fans taking over Covent Garden saturday night was classic and you can see the photos online. On the day they took the game to Man City but were undone by Toure's simply ridiculous/fantastic goal, clinical finishing and Borini and Fletcher passing up two good chances.

Borini trying to get it on to his other foot when it just needed a toe-poke, and Fletcher showing why it was folly to pay £12m for him, fluffing it and almost garaunteeing Sunderland cut their losses and offload him to Celtic.

Dicko would you believe we ended up with two spares for Club Wembley... thirty minutes to kick off a father and son on Wembley way, resigned to heading for the nearest pub to watch it got two top notch tickets for less than face value, really pissing of the circling touts... They both started to cry as the tickets changed hands, that's the kind of day it was.

Hopefully Sundrland will be heading back to wembley after this weekend, because if they draw anyone other than City and play that way again they have a real chance.

86500 attendance meant 4500 tickets went unused, plenty of them in club wembley (which is a rip-off... £9.90 for fish supper)... surely a better balance can be struck between corporate and genuine fans?

Can't wait to view those covent garden photos. Be like sitting through someone else holiday snaps. Boring! Sunderland fans escape their shithole for a day or 2. Woohoo.

Classy...

Still it must be unchartered territory having to cope with a North East side playing in a major cup final (Unless you count the Smoggies?)

Will there be a second helping of Cheesy Chips on Wembley Way after the weekend?

Yeah you could see on TV the empty seats around the tunnel area. They were quite obviously corporate / Club Wembley seats. Gutting for the real fans of both sides who missed out on getting to a Cup Final. I'd have loved to have been there but the cost of the Club Wembley membership to get the tickets was just plain silly and I couldn't really justify travelling on the hope that I might be able to get a ticket at the match. I'm glad your spares found their way to genuine Sunderland fans.

Club Wembley is fantastic for the NFL games, but the food prices are OTT on the concourses. No different to the likes of an Open Golf Championship, or Ascot racecourse (now there's a venue with eye-watering drink and food prices). However, while a day at the golf or races is just that - a day, a football match is an hour and a half plus a bit either end. Should be easy to eat prior to going in and avoid the stupid fish and chips prices.
