Val Doonican used to be fantastic on a Saturday night.

Watched Blood last week on Channel 5. Set in Ireland about a GP and his family.  5 Episodes.  Worth a watch.

Watched Death and Nightingales on BBC2 last night.  Set in Ulster pre-partition. First of 3 episodes or so.

You're probably a geriatric virgin though.

Very popular man in my day Lucy.

Modesty prevents me from saying too much.

A big handsome stud is all I will say.

Those were the days.

Back to TV

Strictly is on BBC 1 Tonight.

Age happens to us all Lucy (if we are lucky) but I still have the memories.

The ladies just couldn't get enough of me.

Tall,  good looking,  well built,  charming - so they kept telling me.

Indeed, those were the days.

Strictly Results show is on Sunday

No doubt one of them was the female ambassador of South Africa.

Actually no.... had a lady friend with her,  with whom she often popped down to Umhlanga and the Oyster Box.

Try Umhlanga for a holiday sometime.  Great Beach but watch out for the undertow and sharks.

Best choose either the Oyster Box or Beverley Hills hotel.

English cricket team use the Beverley Hills when in the Durban area.

Ask for a sea facing room with a balcony and if you get up early you can have your breakfast as you watch the sharks cruise the beach.

You do know that this is a thread about TV... Dynasties has already been suggested and it is good.

Last night's episode wasn't really as dramatic as last week.

Penguins having a fight didn't really match the ferocity of the monkey battle last week.

Next week looks better, a lioness and her battle to protect her cubs.

Just watched the lioness episode, stunning.

The empathy you feel for the lions yet next to nothing for their victims.

Stunning photography, Attenborough, as usual, just makes the story come to life.

Brilliant, that's all. :thumbs2

Tonights episode was stunning again.

Usual mix of the reality of life and death with a Painted Wolf pack.

My dog also enjoyed it. :D

Namibia is a lovely country and in the days when I might have taken a Lager, Windhoek Light was a decent drink.

BBC1 Tonight at 21.00.

RISE OF THE CLANS  introduced by Neil Oliver

He tells the story of Scotland's ancient clans.

Part 1 tonight. - THE BRUCE SUPREMACY

I might give it a watch.

Should be worth watching.  Neil was in the restaurant / pub having a meal with his family when I was watching the League Cup Final.

Lives around the corner from me.

Good broadcaster.

There was a Scotch & Wry sketch on with Gregor Fisher doing the Rev Jolly , it was ok but not a patch on the original.
