Bud the Baker
Good programme on BBC4 about anarchist, feminist and Sci-Fi/Fantasy author Ursula K. Le Guin last night. Probably most famous for her Earthsea novels where a young protagonist with a facial scar goes to wizarding school and eventually defeats his evil nemesis and saves the world - note any similarities to a recent blockbuster series of books and fillums? As an aside her career spanned Pulp Sci-Fi mags to the internet where she posted on SciFi forums under the UserName Wizzywig! Bud the Baker
Carmen Jones - Oscar Hammerstein's reworking of Bizet's masterpiece, set in WW2 USA it features Dorothy Dandridge and Harry Belafonte. Watch it and I'll bet you'll be whistling "Stand Up And Fight" as we hammer Hibs tonight! Edited November 26, 2019 by Bud the Baker

I honestly couldn't tell who he was impersonating until they said and his material is sh!te. IMO the concept is still good but the content is terrible. The thing is other options at the same time were shit, so the competition was weak yet I still couldn't stand it. As St Lucifer said it was hard to fecking tell who they were meant to be mimicking. This same discussions been on here for quite a few years, the consensus is it's past it's sell-by date and should be binned.
faraway saint
Current;y half way through a pretty good Scottish drama, Traces. Some of the major scenes were shot in/around Dundee. At this stage, just finished the 3rd episode of 6, very good.

God save me. I saw the clips advertising it - that was enough. It's indicative of most of the tripe we get served up these days, though. Strictly Big Masked Housewives on Ice in the Essex Jungle pish. Agreed, "watched" last night with the grand kids, jeezo, tonight was utter tripe. The concept is pish, the panel are garbage, all in all 0/10. Edited January 5, 2020 by faraway saint
