I've never been able to warm to Titus Welliver as Bosch. I've read all the Bosch books and he's not what I pictured. I also don't like the fact that they run different stories into each other. Read the books about 30 years ago, so could remember f**k all about it. A bit slow to start, but really enjoyed it overall. Looks set for a sequel. Yes, I get what you mean, I think moving the back story forward in time always leads to things like that, with Connelly having been involved in the writing and production of the series I was always happy to follow his lead. I remember when Iain Banks was asked to do the screenplay for The Crow Road he said no as he'd aleady written it once and I guess it depends on how the author feels about relinquishing control of the story. Loved the Dune books but was really disappointed in the first film with Sting, might give the new one a go but don't think Mrs S will fancy it much. Good news/bad news, FFS! Just started watching The Lincoln Lawyer. I tend to go with a series more when I "buy into" the characters as much as the story.
