monster munch
We are apparently in talks to sign Morgaro Gomis from United although the transfer is apparently dependant on other moves. Information coming straight from the player...

FTOF
Decent enough player in the past. Not sure how he's fared of late. Still not a centre half though.
Stevie88
He's in talks with Partick thistle! Apparently it's prince bauben that's in talks with thistle. He's now at Carlisle.
JM1
Would be a good player to compete against Goodwin for the defensive midfield role. I hope we get him.
monster munch
Worrying the move seemingly depends on movement out of Saints. Whilst this does not surprise me it is a little concerning...
billyg
Worrying the move seemingly depends on movement out of Saints. Whilst this does not surprise me it is a little concerning... I believe we are trying to come to an agreement with Grainger which would see him becoming a free agent before the window closes !
monster munch
One high earner for another then? Where are the funds and wages from Mair, Barron etc. Seems to me that most of budget is being spent on payouts to get rid of players

liamg_smfc
Would be a decent signing and would let Goodwin move back into centre half
simondsmfc
Would be a decent signing and would let Goodwin move back into centre half We need a proper centre half not a midfielder playing the role of a makeshift centre half. monster munch
Why do we need to release anyone. We're short of players. Because we are short of cash after paying off said players. Shambles.

Dibbles old paperboy
Would be interesting to know how much Lennon has cost the club in terms of paying off players before their contracts finish. ... the alternative is to find out how much we would have kept on paying to have Imrie, Harkins, Grainger, Mair as under-utilised subs until their contracts expired while also continuing to pay for Barron to be never fit for selection. Ayrshire Saints
Gomis only re joined Utd in October are you sure it's him. Wouldn't us signing him breach the 3 clubs rule ?

Dibbles old paperboy
Part of the manager's job these days is to keep his fringe players happy and ready for first team action. ... and to squeeze the most out of his budget. I'm sure Imrie, Harkins, Mair and Grainger are not on "fringe player" wages the way Robertson no doubt was.

Away and take your common sense with you! For example...Say Mair was on £ 10 a week, to not play. He moves to thistle for £5 a week, even if we pay the other £5 a week for the rest of his deal. It still allows us to bring in someone else at £5, who is going to play. Budget remains the same. These contracts are cancelled by mutual consent, so at most the club only pays at most what's left on these contracts, not more and quite possible less. Murray7
I'd be delighted if we signed Gomis. Once again, I'd prefer a CB though.
class of 76-77
Gomis fits the bill for the type of player Danny has actively been looking for. He would play in the Goodwin position and for me would be a good signing.
