Saints V Kilmarnock. 1.3.14 Truly A "must Win" Game.

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to this one - should be a good crowd and if the players can't get themselves up for this then they want to chuck it. With Thistle playing Ross county we must get a win here. Home fans will get behind the team as they always do and hopefully we will see a performance that gets us off our seats.

Over the years we have pulled out the results when it matters and tomorrow is one of those days. My concern is that there doesn't seem to be enough fight or dig in the current squad and we accept defeat way too easily for my liking. Tomorrow we need to win ..... simples !

This is a must win, both for Danny and the team, so the formula is quite simple - stop playing players out of position, play a 4-2-3-1 of Kello; Naismith, McGregor, McAusland, Kelly; McGinn, McLean; Campbell, McGowan, Wylde; Thompson, press them high up the park, especially their defenders who are dodgy, and for the fans to get behind the team from the off. I'm not Danny's biggest fan but we have to give him and the team backing as we have to win this, because looking at the fixtures, three out of our next four are tough away trips. COYS!!!

Danny's inspirational pre-match adress to the players I assume

Mind you, he's obviously worked hard on this one. It makes more sense than most of the interviews he does.

The bottom line is, if we manage a win today, we move up at least one place. It's not impossible, though highly improbable, that we could move into seventh place. That's how tight this league is. Even though this is not likely the players MUST go onto that park with positivity and go for the jugular. There shouldn't be a player with anything left in there tank if we don't get a victory. If there is then they are failures to themselves!

D and T must be run out of paisley!!

Do you really think this kind of attitude is helpful to Saints ? The board will make the decision on the manager, the manager will make the decisions on the players and the players will make the decisions on the park. There are still 11 games to until the end of the season, plenty of time for things to be turned round but the fans have to play their part, instead of making Greenhill Road intimidating to our club let's back them and intimidate the opposition for a change. If a player makes a mistake stop getting on his back and cheer him on, if we go a goal down we have to cheer the team on to try and get an equaliser. The time to take stock and make decisions on the manager and players will be the end of the season and until then we should all keep our personal thoughts aside and play our part for the team. Do your bit for the team, get behind them and back them.

Ignore him, he's been taking lessons from elvis, just posting the only thought he can muster time after time.

Kello

Naismith McGregor Kelly

Newton McGinn

Campbell McLean McGowan

Magennis Thompson

Subs: Dillo, McAusland, Djemba Djemba,Wylde, Reilly, Brady

I think this is a game for having a go. Would like to see us use our midfield as Mcginn, McLean and McGowan are among our best players and hoofing the ball over their heads and bypassing them means we don't play to our own strengths.

3 at the back as we don't have 4 in form defenders, drop Wylde and djemba Djemba to the bench (Dx2 has cost a goal each game while protecting the defence) and 2 up front.
