Been reading through this thread, after a related post came up, shows why the forum is important.
Some great memories, interesting and no trolling.
Only 6 years ago but with some minor changes the forum could be a decent place again.

You prompted me to have a wee swatch at this thread again.

Happy days & a thread with zero trolling, loved the memories from all who posted as well as my own [emoji4]

This is the kind of thread worth bumping.

Cheers [emoji481]

You forget how popular Paisley Nightlife  was in the 70s and 80s. Can anyone remember the name of the bar/nightclub in the hotel opposite Reid Kerr college, I can’t even remember the hotel name? It’s flats now.

Tappit Hen in my day.

Played darts, well, threw darts in the general direction of the board.

That's where I met @North Sea Saint, which cost me a fortune.

Was called Joe Allen's before Lush. Was owned by ex-football player, Alan Mackin.

I mind him playing for an Amateur team Partizan.

He never moved and came off spotless despite him being a centre half

We pumped them and ended up at his pub where he flung a few of us out.

Happy days

I drove a lot of punters from Penilee, Cardonald, etc to Harvies Showbar in the late 1980's early 1990's.

Very popular place.

Mobbed every weekend especially a Sunday night.

Mind the DJ with blond perm must have been sixty at the time

Someone out of Black Lace

Made sure it was the Showbar you went into and not the Pub

Different world in the late 80s early 90s

I never went into Pub or Showbar.

I dropped punters off there then returned to Glasgow for another hire.

Brilliant. I was trying to remember the name of that place.

There was also a pub/club that was located at the top of Love St on the edge of the ring road which I think is called Moncrieff House.

Maybe I was just pished and imagined being in their drinking in the dim and distant past.

Remember after a pre season friendly against  Southampton.

Ended up in this place until midnight with Sothampton fans

St George Flags the lot

I remember a Sellic bus dropping a few of them off after Arsenal pumped them 5-1

Sellic ended up winning the double that season

Didn't Harvies have the disco floor installed?

He absolutely loved himself.

I worked a couple of shifts in Joe Allen's to cover for one of my mates.

Mackin's "work" behind the bar involved him standing and posing, when he wasn't chatting up the female clientele.

During the "curfew years" Joe Allen's was one of the places you go to get a late drink. As long as you bought a pizza, you could drink to your heart's content.  A few times the aforementioned owner didn't charge us for the Pizzas, so he was he wasn't all bad.
