He would be pushing for the 1st team position, but Kello would have to get the nod unless injured or experiencing a slump in form. I think the fact that Ridgers was offered a 2-year deal might be significant. The club has hopefully learned from not having extended Dilo's contract (or offered him a longer deal in the first instance). As back-ups go, I can't really say that we could have picked up much better than a young lad with 5 U21 caps to his name who will be happy to bide his time and fight for a spot. Dilo seems to be away which is a shame but more than adequate replacement IMO. Dilo did have lots of promise and probably wants to play every week, which is fair enough.
