insaintee
That video encapsulates everything about how to develop young footballers to play football..! They retain possession, they don't make 'Hit n Hope' passes They pull the opposition all over the pitch And when an opportunity arrives its executed ruthlessly...... The hard of thinking on here that criticise this excellent football should keep the f**k away from St Mirren park when these boys are playing! They need encouragement and support, not the usual whining from people that couldn't kick their own arse I think he means you Shull

shull
If we start making 50 passes when a couple will do, St Mirren Park will empty very swiftly.
Stuart Dickson
If this is the third best set up in the country who are the two sides with a better youth system? What is the measure being used to make such a claim? And is it actually performing better than some clubs at Juvenile level - like this one for example? Sadly too many people don't have the lying thick f**kwit on ignore. It is still highly amusing to see his obsession with us continuing a mere 19 years since SG put the fat dolt in his place. It's the only 5 star facility in Scotland, as rated independently by football academy Scotland or similar - could source later. The Old Firm have 6 stars, every other club in the country has 4 stars or less. A magnificent achievement for a club like ours. Edited July 6, 2014 by TopCat

shull
One long flighted pass from Walker or Nicholson Knockdown by Yardley Ball stuck in the net by Mendes, McGarry or whoever. SIMPLE & EFFECTIVE Better than one dreary move of 50 plus passes which may result in a goal once a season that the fans wid be sleeping and no see anyway. PASS FORWARD PLEASE ! What is the measure being used to make such a claim? And is it actually performing better than some clubs at Juvenile level - like this one for example? It's measured using the SFA's criteria for star ratings set out here: http://www.stmirren-youthacademy.net/club-academy-scotland-regulations.html http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/resources/documents/ClubLicensing/Part5:GeneralAppendix2013/A30%20Club%20Academy%20Scotland%20Minimum%20Criteria.pdf In which only 2 clubs rank higher than st mirren in that rating system, The Rangers and Celtic, with a star rating of 6. St. Mirren having a star rating of 5.

I'm not sure if you're at the wind-up. The goal in question, there was a long ball forward after 10 seconds. All I saw was lots of movement and intelligent use of the ball. They seemed to be able to keep the ball and then switch up the pace when they spotted gaps; Hearts were being pulled all over the place.
