Maybe it's because as Goodwin is a previous captain and current asst. manager he feels he can trust him not to go looking for trouble. I'm not sure he can and if that's the case it puts both TC and Goodwin under a bit of pressure as he'll pick up more bookings as the season progresses. That's pretty much a certainty. Had to switch over the BBC because of the amount of shite Hugh Keevins was talking. He put Andy fkin Townsend to shame. Hugh Keevins was defending Goodwin at times stating that he just gets up and gets on with it when he is fouled and doesn't make a meal of things like people who Jim fouls do in a deliberate attempt to get him booked. The squad can't be that unhappy about what happened as there are only six or seven players who have remained under contract since Lennon's reign - the rest are either new signings or guys who signed new deals, which they wouldn't have done if they had been annoyed. Of those who stayed Thompson is captain and it looks like Cheesy is vice captain which surely placated any disquiet. As for chats between the chairman and the manager after the game? Big deal. Lennon and Gilmour nearly always had a chat on the track at Greenhill Road after matches, regardless of the result. Funnily enough it only seemed to be mentioned after we lost.
