stlucifer
So referees are demanding better remuneration for officiating at Chamionship games because they are now "higher profile" due to the inclusion of the Edinburgh mobs and the new entity. This surely means the converse for the premier league so here is my solution. Up the fee for second tier games from the £195.00 to, let's say, £390.00. Seems fair... eh? But, because of the loss of the "auld reekie" rabbles, the fee for the now less attractive top league games could be reduced from the current £845.00 to, I don't know, maybe £550.00. All those in favour.... Edited August 13, 2014 by stlucifer

insaintee
SPL games are higher paid because the best refs should be officiating in the top division. The problem occurs when the SFA cherry picks the refs for Newco games. The solution is to let these games be officiated by Championship level refs and pay them championship wages.
