TopCat Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Here we go again. Gonna be a long hot summer at Greenhill Road. Quote
Bud the Baker Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 As part of their proposals, the group also wanted to build a hotel next to St Mirren Park, and use part of the surrounding site for long-stay parking for passengers flying from neighbouring Glasgow Airport. Yikes! Quote
dakota7 Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 If they are genuinely interested then do a deal surely it has to be better than stagnating with the current board. Quote
Lord Pityme Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 The article does read as they have been 'asked' would they still be interested, rather than they have made a fresh approach. But if they do make a bid you can understand them wanting to know if Tommy's contract will be paid up, and who will foot the bill for paying up GT's contract? Quote
pozbaird Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Got to be great news. The bar at the hotel will be great for a quick pint before games. Welcome them with open arms I say, and make mine a lager shandy and a packet of dry roasted peanuts. Quote
Lord Pityme Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 They certainly come with ideas to generate more revenue, we could do worse. Quote
mad saint 2 Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 here we go again nothing happens ,we wait and wait summer passes by we have no players or manager in then usual panic and we sign more clowns that we later on in season we pay off gilmour sell up or put up Quote
Mid Calder Saint Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 They certainly seem to have sound ideas.I have always felt that we should use our closeness to Glasgow Airport to our advantage in terms of parking hotel and advertising etc. Quote

stripey Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Aspiration Holdings Inc had been in advanced discussions to take over the majority shareholding of the Paisley club and install David Thompson, the former Liverpool midfielder, as their manager. As part of their proposals, the group also wanted to build a hotel next to St Mirren Park, and use part of the surrounding site for long-stay parking for passengers flying from neighbouring Glasgow Airport. The deal eventually collapsed in January due to "the complete lack of communication and contact" between the St Mirren board and the interested party. What is it with the current BOD,s at St.Mirren, if they genuinely want to sell the club as they proclaim, then why the hell do they come across as incapable of communicating with anyone and here was me thinking it was solely the fans they failed to communicate with. They weren't interested in this group and more interested in the Argies at the time Desperate men now Quote
Bud the Baker Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 They weren't interested in this group and more interested in the Argies at the time Desperate men now As least we know why they want the club now, would it be possible for the BoD to get their money back via a combination of selling the ground for the hotel and car park to Aspiration Holdings and the club to the fans - just asking like? As for the club being tied into the hotel deal I look at what happened with Kilmarnock and think NO! Quote
waldorf34 Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 There are some in the consortium that no longer want to sell, they will draw a line under a dreadfully season and seek to forward for the moment ,anything else is a distraction. ie they have cash for the first time in a few years Quote
Magic Monkey Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 ie they have cash for the first time in a few years That the parachute payment, or is there more to it? Quote
northendsaint Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Aspiration holdings dont look too good on the companies check website. Quote
Stu Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Aspiration holdings dont look too good on the companies check website. Think you've seen the same link as me, which was a bit worrying - however it talks about aspirations rather than aspiration holdings. Couldn't find an Aspiration Holdings on companies house. Quote
SBS Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Knowing our luck at present this is our new hotel! Quote
