James Marwood Away - Official

Had good pace but that was pretty much it. Think his feet moved quicker than his brain - he would so often trip over the ball when running with it. Non-existent positional sense, couldn't work out where he was playing half the time. Crucial stat though is 0 goals in 15 appearances. At least Ball and Caldwell chipped in with a couple each.

Some good wages freed up now. Let's get some decent strikers/a defender in.

Caldwell and Drury scored a few goals. Plummer had some good games. Marwood contributed sod all.

He was with me doing the Twitter updates for the first half of the Dundee United game at the start of the season (think he got bored of having to put up with me and buggered off at half-time). Seemed a nice guy - sadly I had to stop some of what he wanted to post, including that one of United's defenders looked as if he was playing after dropping a few tabs.

The one thing that sticks out is when Ball was about to take a free-kick that was in a perfect place for a dead ball specialist. I was quite surprised at this and before I could say anything Marwood said: "Oh, Callum's taking this." I asked if he pinged them in during training and he replied "Well, I've not seen him taking any before..." Kinda summed up Craig's approach to things to me.

Well, The Conference Premier is a decent enough level to me, especially at the top end of it. I would certainly say it's a higher standard than our Championship. They're all full time and they get crowds of a similar or larger amount than us.

He just did absolutely nothing at all in any game. He tried hard and he seems a nice fella, he just did nothing. Never heard of McVie, but I bow to your knowledge!

Bollox. The average attendance is less than 2000, and while some are, they're not all full time clubs.

Erm......

He played for English non league outfirt Gateshead. I do not regard that as a "decent enough level" by any stretch of my auld imagination.

Was he terrible? No, not by any stretch of my auld imagination. He was just short of the required quailty to cut it at our level but not terrible, not terrible at all. I do not know how long you have been engaged in regular watching of the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co first team playing squad but may I refer you to a chap called Gary McVie.

Other than that your post was bang on my forum friend, bang on indeed.

Ooft, Gary McVie - that's a blast from the past. A horrible mess off a player. Cheers for that!

Players find their level. Marwood looked to have the right idea, and made good runs but didn't have that extra bit of pace or skill needed to get away from higher standard defenders. He looked increasingly huffy during 'warm ups', and wasn't giving the best impression latterly, but I've seen quite a few worse than him through the years.

Eh like who, my grandma was pretty crap but she scored in the Paisley Ladies Coats Threadmill Team in 1947, hence she scored in Paisley urgo she is better than Marwood. We are paying to watch we are allowed to be critics, plus he is gone so fk him....... Still think we will finish 9th, despite BOD, TC, Marwood, and the rest of the diddies TC signed.

Where did I suggest that no-one was allowed to criticise?

He's an EPL tweeter, sadly never had the football talent to match.

I can't think of one worse player. I can think of a few just as bad maybe. He was an utter no hoper.
