We have been contacted by John Pressly, one of the curators at Paisley Museum and Carol Craig from Paisley Central Library regarding a proposed St. Mirren exhibition being planned for Summer 2015.

The exhibition will be called 'Back of the Net' and will run from July 18th to August 16th and is about the St.Mirren supporters rather than just a straightforward history of the club. It aims to showcase the community of St.Mirren fans, illustrating the bonds that tie a diverse group of people through a collective experience, and will indirectly tell the history of the club as experienced by its supporters. The aim is to make this exhibition about the fans and they would like to work as closely as possible with as many fans as are willing so that they can make this exhibition a resounding success.

You can help promote St.Mirren in the wider community and share with others your experiences of following the buds. What John and Carol would like to do is collect as many fans stories as they can about the wide aspect of supporting the club. This would include areas such as -

• Why did you choose to support St. Mirren? e.g. local team, family, friends
• What does supporting the team mean to you?
• Memories of games – travel to away games (preferably unusual e.g. Anglo-SC cup), cup games / finals, memories of post-cup final Paisley
• Going to a game – e.g pre-match rituals, far travelled fans
• Memories of Love Street
• Thoughts on move to new stadium / Experience of new place
• Mascot tales
• Life changing events e.g. meeting future partners
• Club in the community – e.g. what it gives back to Paisley, Summer clubs, Youth and schools programmes.
• Meeting the team - any stories about meeting the players (any era)

Any suggestions for areas missed will be gratefully received!

The fan stories will be accompanied by photographs and St.Mirren related memorabilia. Again, they would be looking to every saints fan to provide as much as you would be willing to, for the duration of the exhibition.

No doubt there will be many stories to tell and you can post them to John or Carol at the museum or contact John by email at: [email protected]

I refer the honourable gentleman to the now collectors item... Love Street, The Final Chapter, which contains a multitude of the things asked for here.

T'was a rather splendid publication.
